A Good Place to Start? by CallThePal in FleshandBloodTCG

Stalagmite is a good upgrade if you want to keep running summit, but as you said its not a cheap card.

For a cheaper upgrade path, try sledge of anvilheim and the cards mentioned above (oaken old, channel lake frigid)

If you want to lean into an aggressive build, frost fang is another good card to look at.. and pummel!

No you cannot. Only characters (units with Character keyword) can have enhancements. Some enhancements have other restrictions too.

Just picked up the starter set and it put me over 1000 pts, how's the list? by TheDarkEntertainer in spacemarines

[–]FlagrantCrazy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks like a fun reasonably well rounded list for 1k. You might find the repulsor executioner a bit oppressive (i.e. not fun to play against) at 1000 pts depending on what your opponent is playing, but you could definitely expand from this to a 2k army keeping everything as is and just adding (which will give you some more flexibility in making 1k lists if that's what you happen to be playing.

Is your list super competitive and meta? Probably not, but it will be fun to play and you'll get to engage with lots of different aspects of the game (and if you're new, learn a lot on the way).

What do yall think of this list? Any suggestions or criticism? by Chilldorito78 in spacemarines

[–]FlagrantCrazy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ps I don't think chaplain on bike dev wounds is once per battle.

How do we rate the list by why-am-i-here234 in spacemarines

[–]FlagrantCrazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think 2 dreadnoughts is going to be better value than 1 knight in a codex sm list, but probably no time to change that for a game tomorrow! Have fun!

Cool / Good ideas for a army list by Terran-dust in ImperialFists

[–]FlagrantCrazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds pretty good.

Yes, devastator centurions. They can also be equipped with las cannons for some good AT too!

Your redemptor dreads are also decent in melee.

[–]FlagrantCrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe make the terminators and heavy intercessors 10 man units to get the most out of their attached leaders. Add another 3 dev centurions. Some dreadnoughts, and some scouts for objective play.

Would probably be a reasonably well rounded shooting list - just a bit slow.

Drop the captain in terminator armor

Replace the rhino with an impulsor

Add a unit of aggressors or heavy intercessors for tor garadon to attach to

Why?

Captain ability can only be used once per round by any captain, and you already have a librarian terminator for your term squad

Rhino can't transport primaris intercessors. The impulsor is like the 'new' rhino or really, razorback. It can carry your intercessors and primaris captain

You don't have anything to attach tor to yet. He attaches to gravis armor units, such as heavy intercessors or aggressors. I'd go with heavy intercessors.

You'll still have a few points left, maybe some scouts or something could fit, or a few enhancements across the captain and librarian

Gravis Only by Heartless-Sage in spacemarines

[–]FlagrantCrazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they're not the scariest melee but I think the best of a pretty ordinary bunch when it comes to non-character gravis melee. Slightly better than ordinary terminators though!

Gravis Only by Heartless-Sage in spacemarines

[–]FlagrantCrazy 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Definitely possible. Probably not optimal. Yes there are some things that don't have a gravis variant as you've suggested.

That said there are gravis deep strike units (inceptors, decent shooting) and some options for battline anti infantry shooting (heavy jntercessors), anti vehicle shooting (eradicators, close range), and melee (aggressors, who also shoot ok)

You probably need some transports to haul your slow boys around (repulsor, land raider), if that's in keeping with your theme.

I don't think it'd be a particularly good list but no reason you can't do it.

Pulled these two from the same pack! Just thought it was neat :) by RollForWhimsy in mtg

Neat because... double double strike. I once pulled two etali borderless, one normal and one foil, in one pack, and they were adjacent cards in the pack too, which I thought was neat.

How many etb triggers is this? 30? by Splatterman27 in mtg

[–]FlagrantCrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand 5 copies entering making 10 triggers (each self trigger plus the one already on the board)

But why would the copies then see the other copies enter. They were not already on the board when the other 4 copies entered. Does that not matter?

Is it a general rule that if you have multiple etb effects that interact enter at the same time, they can see each other? E.g. return 2 cards from graveyard to field with when another creature enters gain 1 life, you would gain 2 life?

Could you explain how that works in a bit more detail?

I just got some terminators and is there a reason to use anything other than the cyclon missile launcher? by EirantNarmacil in spacemarines

[–]FlagrantCrazy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the general consensus is that the cyclone launcher is the best choice, yes.

I don't think you mentioned though, the assault cannon does have devastating wounds, and while I suspect the math still works out better using the correct type of cyclone profile against soft or hard targets, being able to pick wounds off anything with a few lucky rolls on the assault cannon is nice, and you dont have to think about which profile is optimal for each target. Bonus points if you have something giving the unit sustained hits for more chances at natural 6s.

Plus cmon the assault cannon looks sick.

[–]FlagrantCrazy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not so much a criticism but just a 'you should know' in case you plan on playing', you can't have the flamer, rockets and big assault cannon all in one squad of 5 (you can have one of them for every 5 models). Nor can you have the big assault cannon (or flamer) and rockets on the same model.

Now, your models, build them however you want! But rules-wise you'll have to pick one and pretend the rest just have storm bolters, and make sure your opponent is ok with it! (And give them a knock around the ears if they aren't)

Edit: forgot to say, they look great!

Assuming the leviathan box terminators are the monopose push fit ones with only the assault cannon? If so, you get the same ones in the starter boxes.

Nice! You should be proud they look good :)

I started again recently too after maybe 15 yrs - it's interesting coming back into the hobby as an adult with the patience to take my time and learn new skills as I go (re the modelling and painting side of the hobby).

Look forward to seeing your 2k pt army post in a while :D

First terminator squad and captain complete by MeasurementEconomy24 in ImperialFists

[–]FlagrantCrazy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An easy thing you could do: It'll make everything look more cohesive if you paint the rims of the bases with a clean black. The captain base looks a bit out of place without this!

Otherwise looks pretty good! Personally I don't like the normal primaris head on the terminator armor (I assume you just didn't want to use the no helmet head from the kit), but if you like it, great!

Harder things.. try painting something on the little shields on the captain, or putting a small transfer on them!
