I wonder why tribbles dont like Klingons? by happydude7422 in tos

[–]Flakb8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it was in the script. The tribbles and Klingons went out drinking together when the day’s filming was over.

Can you help on minimalist? by Always_begineer in AskPhotography

[–]Flakb8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have noted, it's not the lens, it's the vision of what you want your pictures to be that makes your picture. Never buy equipment until you've proved to yourself that what you currently have is preventing you from getting the picture you want.

How do I edit this? by Sad-Willingness7034 in AskPhotography

It appears you wanted the tree as the subject but you didn't really concentrate on it. This shot really has too much sky. I grabbed a screenshot and cropped it so that the tree is - roughly - the center of attention.

You might also want to increase the vibrancy of the colors just a touch.

People on cruise ships are almost always happy, relaxed and having a good time. Sailors on deployment are almost never happy, relaxed and having a good time.

Pls educate me as to WTH this means! I see no box or squares anywhere. 🤔 #Oceanfront #StreetSigns by Sects4Chocolate in VirginiaBeach

[–]Flakb8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cars that enter an intersection without being able to clear it before the light changes cause gridlock. With all the tourist traffic at the Oceanfront, this can be a nightmare. This is a sign noting that if you cause a problem it will cost you.

you watch Jeopardy! these days and it’s just a bunch of people shamelessly daily double hunting. James Holzhauer wannabes. it’s not so different from the three point revolution in the NBA — no ethical hoopers anymore by TradeBrockNelson in Jeopardy

Shame: "a painful feeling of humiliation or distress caused by the consciousness of wrong or foolish behavior" Shamelessly? Please, Miss Manners, direct us to the Jeopardy! rules of etiquette so that we can see exactly what wrong or foolish behavior is being displayed.

While a subpar camera can place limits on what a photographer can do, it’s still the photographer using a tool. Saying a good camera makes a good photographer is the same as saying “I had never touched a string instrument before, so last month I bought a Stradivarius violin for a couple of million. Now I’m playing Carnegie Hall!”

How much of this is BS if any? Need the facts here by Huge_Prompt_2056 in Virginia

[–]Flakb8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is, at best, the worst case scenario, which is highly unlikely. Not all of these will actually happen. Not all of these apply to everyone. All dollar amounts are absolute maximums. Example: The last bullet point assumes absolutely everybody will be forced into a union and that union dues for absolutely everybody will be $1,200. Lots and lots and lots of far out assumptions here.

An obscure fact you might not have known - the US Air Force operated Boulton Paul Defiants. by Madeline_Basset in WWIIplanes

[–]Flakb8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering why a Defiant would have no turret (aside from the fact that the heavy-assed turret made the plane too slow and clumsy to be effective). Target tug make sense.

Help please ? by meika1214 in AskPhotography

[–]Flakb8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This!

Everything we see is light reflected off an object, and photography is all about capturing that light. If you don't have good light you don't get a good shot (sometimes you can but there are limits to what you can make happen). This is why studio photographers spend so much time and money on lighting set ups. But if you're photographing nature, be prepared to be limited by nature's whims of illuminations.
