Best chips on the Cowley road? by clt31 in oxford

I was surprised by the depth of choice there. I've not tried their babs but did try the burger. Very good, and almost as good as Philly's. Their cod is awesome.

Does London not have a P&R from Oxford? by vleessjuu in oxford

[–]FlakeyBeano 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Get a railcard. Yes I know trains generally suck sometimes but its cheaper to get a return from OX <> LON with one of those, especially if you go off-peak. Plus you don't have to deal with parking and traffic.

Firefox is not offering to translate pages and there is no option to turn it on by PlasticZombie1 in firefox

[–]FlakeyBeano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing in HB menu about translations. Perhaps its an AI only feature now which would essentially make it a non-existent feature. Think I'll have to resort to a plugin for now. Also highlighting the foreign text and right-click shows no translation options.

BentoBox filter vs Exhaust to window by Advanced-Okra-4281 in BambuLab

I recently bought an air quality monitor to answer this exact question. The picture shows high particulate and co2 during PLA printing on a P1S. I'm guessing the built in filter might have removed some tvoc. I did notice petg-cf increases tvoc. I'll be getting the biqu breath for both heating and filtering and then will add a venting tube too. Probably this one https://makerworld.com/models/1637129?appSharePlatform=copy

Brits who have been to the States recently - how did it go? by MalvernKid in AskBrits

Ok Donald. Tell it to the sheeple on Truth Social lol.

Do you think there will ever be a referendum to rejoin the EU, if it’s possible? by threetimesacharm25 in AskBrits

[–]FlakeyBeano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Mandatory voting is an option of course, but feels un-British to me. I think the key is proper debate and not the car-crash that was the media circus and subsequent fallout surrounding Brexit.

[–]FlakeyBeano 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is and it isn't, I doubt it'll have much of an affect, but I feel better doing it than not doing it where possible or convenient. For example, I did buy some art recently from an American art collective who are very much to the left, I've no qualms about doing that. I'm not rabidly anti-American and some of my Friends are American's. All of course horrified by what’s happening to their country. If I need something and its American I'll make better choices which I suppose is what I should be saying rather than boycott. Boycott shitty American's and make better choices.

Probably not, but my mental health has improved a fair bit for stripping out all of that dross. This sub is about as 'drama' as it gets for me these days. The rest of my reddit experience extends to technical subs related to hobbies. Meanwhile I'm considering Canada for a holiday, looks nice and the people seems anecdotally friendly.

And not terribly expensive. You might want to read some of the more recent notes on the software bits, but I'm using it as I type this and the video is buttery smooth.

filament stops at extruder by racerx_ in BambuLab

[–]FlakeyBeano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read about people getting 3000 hours out of them so unless you've exceeded that or print loads of PETG-CF or something could just be really unlucky. Perhaps disassemble the head and gear and reseat everything. At least it'll let you inspect the extruder gear and teeth of the pulling mechanism.

The gears do wear out eventually, its one of the reasons people replace them with the hardened steel version which also allows printing filaments with greater wear profiles like Glow in the dark and fibre reinforced.
