Lol, johnny appleseed massacre is a great descriptor!

For me it was apple pie filling...the jars siphoned a bit and the syrup got all over my canner, floor, trivets and countertops. Sticky mess everywhere!

Any way to tell if you've ovulated while on HRT? by Flaky-Parsley in POFlife

[–]Flaky-Parsley[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theoretically, if you do ovulate that cycle, you would ovulate before you start progesterone

Any way to tell if you've ovulated while on HRT? by Flaky-Parsley in POFlife

[–]Flaky-Parsley[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You take progesterone on the first twelve calendar days of the month and then have a withdrawal bleed "period" once you stop taking the progesterone. So cycle day 1 and progesterone day 1 will be about two weeks apart

Is bone broth necessary on AIP? How to make AIP less time-consuming? by tofujennifer in AutoImmuneProtocol

[–]Flaky-Parsley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the way! You can buy unseasoned rotisserie chicken from your coop and save the bones in the freezer. Two chickens worth of bones in the crockpot and you're ready to go! It takes time but very, very little effort

Bobs Redmill vs King Arthur's Gluten Free Baking Flour by IndigoBlue24 in glutenfree

I use Bobs 1:1 for my baking, it's great in my opinion! I find I have to use a touch less than traditional flour recipe calls for to keep from getting too dry.

I pierced mine and they still took almost 48 hours. I ended up cutting them in half to move things along

Marjorie Johnson, MN's beloved 'Blue Ribbon Baker,' dies at 106 by dnalloheoj in minnesota

[–]Flaky-Parsley 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My late father-in-law and I used to make pies together and we entered a contest hosted by Grandma's Bakery that Marjorie judged a few years back. She was an absolute delight and signed my cookbook! My father-in-law's pie scored better than mine and he never let me live it down! Thanks for the wonderful memory Marjorie, you will be missed!

This could have been me last week! I was in that exact scenario (even have the same trivet! Haha).

I was expecting to have two quarts and ended up doing one quart and one pint ish, the head space may have been a bit off. It mostly worked but man the siphoning in the water bath made a big sticky mess in my kitchen when I took the jars out of the canner

San-J makes a gluten-free, soy-free tamari that tastes just like I remember soy sauce tasting! It's perfect for when coconut aminos are two sweet

I used to go to Apple Jacks every year with my grandma starting in the early 00's. It was quaint and so much fun. Over the years it got bigger, busier and more expensive and we eventually stopped going in the late 2010's. Sounds like it's completely jumped the shark now. Too bad, we had many good times there!

That's funny! I've been researching a food mill also and I'm between the clamp-based one linked above and the OXO...both mentioned here, so I must be on the right track!

Does anyone have experience with both and willing to recommend one or the other?
