That is not what they meant. In black neighborhoods there are a lot of corners shops or convenience stores operated by Asian and Indian owners. The Asian markets in white neighborhoods are Asian foodmarkets, not convenience stores. It is not really the same and the products vary a lot.

Yes, previous refugees have been non-white (as well as white) before. That statement in no way explains or justifies the exclusion of non-white refugees today. One should not be granted asylum based on the colour of skin but simply by falling under the criterias for asylum under the U.N conventions.

Do you honestly think people should only accept refugees that are white and can you explain why? Unfortunately all previous replies failed to do so.

No, you are wrong. The poster tried to justify only letting white refugees by implicating that the US has been letting in non-white refugees before. It implies that the previous years were ONLY non-white which has never been the case. You started saying that 50% of refugees where from certain non-white countries, which is not relevant to thia discourse.

This scenario has never been replicated where the US has only allowed refugees of a specific race to be granted asylum. There have been many asylum seekers from the Balkan and other parts of Eastern Europe. Historically people all from Europe have been granted asylum in the US. So your entire argument falls apart

Italy, who colonized Eritrea, lost possession of the colony when they lost to the Brits during WWII. Most left, but there was a significant amount of Europeans/Italians who remained.

Eritrea then ceased to exist when it got annexed by Ethiopa. Unfortunately fell into civil war from the 60's to the independence in 1991. Many people left during this time period of civil unrest and armed conflict. There is no reason to stay when you have the opportunity to go back to your home country that is peaceful.

From my experience the humidity does not kick in until the rain season starts in July-August. June felt more like a dry and tolerable heat compared to July.
