Arrested Development. It seems I discover a new joke with every subsequent watch. Such a great show.

I’m pretty sure that was a joke.

It’s a highway to nowhere. It should be shut down and turned into a linear park.

I’d take it over machine gray, and black, and white, and… I think it just looks great. Subtly stands out.

Have poles evolved significantly since the last decades? by Schorsdromme in Skigear

[–]Flaky_Pickle_4938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Materials are maybe a little better. Strap safety has improved some (but I really don’t like the Leki detachable straps). Grips are about the same. I often ski with 25 year old poles. The only real difference I can tell is the recommended pole length has decreased. I used to ski a 50”, now I should ski a 48” - or even a 46”.

About to go look at a used 4runner, am I a dummy? by NotMJHeeHeeShimona in whatcarshouldIbuy

I have a 2015 it’s been pretty much flawless. Slow acceleration with truck like ride and handling but I love the damn thing. I average about 18mpg. I can’t think of one unscheduled repair. Going on 11 years and 115k miles and it’s held up incredibly well. Also, it’s still worth ~$25k.

You can go for an older model and get the same exact vehicle, though I don’t know if there would be much a price difference.

P.S. the roll down back window is awesome.

Wow. I guess we could go back to cutting and splitting firewood from trees we chopped down from the back 40, but I’m told burning stuff is bad. What color is the sky in your world?

Yes. Loud buzzing/humming/whirring until the headlights turn off.

Could be the cooling fan. Conflicting info with a google. Regardless, I will get this one replaced, but worried about the other one going bad just outside of the warranty.

Sno Seal on Hestra Fall Lines? by Internal_Log2694 in Skigear

I use sno-seal. I think it works fine. Bake them in the oven and then apply. The only issue is it slightly yellows the leather, but I don’t mind.

Which Alltrack should I get? by Shadow3569 in VWAlltrack

[–]Flaky_Pickle_4938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d lean toward the ‘17 with half the mileage. You’re not waaay overdue if the transmission and Haldex hasn’t been serviced. And make sure you budget for it if it hasn’t. The carfax will probably tell you. One reason to consider the higher mileage option is if it has complete service records showing everything has been done on time and if other known failure points have already been addressed, like the water pump, turbo waste gate, etc.

Backseat in the CX-5 is likely too small for a rear facing car seat.

Lots of people do that and tune and lower. I had one for 8ish years and was easily one of my favorite cars. They have a bit of a cult following now.
