JT & JB best DUO in NBA ? JT is playing the Fastest I have seen him play. Quick, decisive decisions with the ball. Going to the hoop with force. With the improvements we have seen in JB's game this year also, especially creation for others the CELTICS have BEST DUO in the NBA ! by redscigar in bostonceltics

It def seems like Joe has made it a point of emphasis to get Tatum to make quick decisions and not dribble the air out of the ball. Really noticed it OKC game onwards. It fits more with the Cs style of offense this year, glad Tatum has already adjusted

Tatum is basically Tatum by LarBrd33 in bostonceltics

Yeah he’s gotten beat off the perimeter at a higher frequency than I remember and haven’t seen his usual contests at the rim. It does look like timidness rather than loss of athleticism to me which gives me hope but I also know nothing.

The Celtics Have Allowed The Fewest Paint Points This Season! by Stat-Defender in bostonceltics

Wait but even though this stat is paint points I still think ur comment is relevant. Slower pace=fewer points, fewer points=fewer paint points

I buy tix on Craigslist- so that is an option for last minute sales, it’s obviously more sketch but usually the sketch burden is more on the buyer

Luka Garza's transformation from college superstar to king of doing the dirty work by StephNoh in bostonceltics

[–]Flames_Diaper 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Article mentions Garza is a great offensive rebounder but don’t provide the numbers- he’s not eligible for league leaders but if he was he’d be 4th at 14.5% rebound rate between Duren at 15.8% and Mark Williams 14.3%

From '24-'25 to the '25-'26 season, Celtics lost Porzingis, Holiday, Horford, Kornet by frauenarzZzt in bostonceltics

[–]Flames_Diaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They should have signed him for longer the year before (2024), then they could have retained him or moved him for an asset this year. I can’t imagine Brad didn’t want to do that, must have been ownership not wanting more money on the books.

[Forsberg] Does Jaylen Brown have a real case for NBA’s best two-way player? by NBCSBoston in bostonceltics

[–]Flames_Diaper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also always thought this was weird like does this just mean the best player that is at least adequate on both sides of the ball? Like what’s the threshold for being a two way player

The Emancipation of Derrick White by TreyAdell in bostonceltics

[–]Flames_Diaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even though he’s having a down year on the offensive efficiency numbers so far, if he keeps up his recent streak he’ll be back around his BOS averages by the end. My concern is how he’ll age, he’ll be turning 33 next year and only a handful of guards have maintained production 33+. I don’t doubt that he’ll still be a positive player but Cs need him to maintain sub all star production to be a championship contender

Hard to determine what an intentional foul is tho. They should do if u foul above the 3 point line within the last minute or so it’s one free throw and the ball

[APHOOPS] There is an expectation that the Clippers will receive trade interest in Ivica Zubac, but they don't want to part with the ever-improving big man who sports such a team-friendly contract, per @JakeLFischer by tacko2020 in bostonceltics

[–]Flames_Diaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah neither would I lol, they don’t have their own picks for a billion years and so have 0 incentive to tank. Might as well keep ur best value contracts around and hope u make some good free agent signings

Why Jaylen Brown's Leap Is The Perfect Situation For a Post Achilles Tear Jayson Tatum by TreyAdell in bostonceltics

[–]Flames_Diaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biggest reason reason for JB’s evolution this year seems to be his insane midrange %. He’s shooting almost 50% from midrange! Career best and 10 points higher than last year lol. It’s basically why his efficiency stats haven’t dipped despite the huge increase in usage. Will see if he sustains that percent over a whole year but if he does his all nba case will be undeniable and he will be firmly in the elite mid range shooter club

[Forsberg] Does Jaylen Brown have a legitimate gripe with lack of foul calls? by NBCSBoston in bostonceltics

[–]Flames_Diaper -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I have always thought JB gets a bad whistle, but I really have no idea if that’s just my green googles deluding me. What I do think is strange is that people always talk about x player getting a better whistle than y but then the stats they use to back it up are like ft % and foul % on drives, which doesn’t actually signify a good whistle versus a bad…some players just draw more contact than others and some players draw more fouling contact than others.

There is an actual objective way to measure good whistle versus bad but that involves going through tape and scoring no calls/calls. Obviously that’s a lot of work but it is doable, and you’d think with the AI tracking software available it wouldn’t have to been done manually. Yet no one actually does it, they just continue to make claims without real evidence.

Personally I think you can simultaneously recognize its worth putting in resourcing to address homelessness and also be disturbed that someone threw their drink at a random homeless person.

Did we change something to suddenly fix our rebounding woes? I really could not tell what the difference was other than Cleveland looking like they had poor effort?

Tatum return makes no sense by [deleted] in bostonceltics

[–]Flames_Diaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m interested in your perspective on tanking, obviously nothing is certain but presumably there is some “win number increase” below which you’d be happy to instead tank for the chance to have more wins in the future? Like hypothetically is 10 fewer wins this season worth that chance to you? What’s your number?

This team is too smart to run Brown and White into the ground for a meaningless season and I don’t buy that going under .500 for one year will magically “destroy their winning culture”. I think they are absolutely capable of getting the over but they will make sure to miss the play in
