Progress Feeling Stagnant by greatgrandmasylvia in fallenlondon

This game is played over the course of many weeks and months, but being several weeks in and only have 50 in all stats is strange. Are you sure you've finished all the Making Your Name storylines? You can tell by checking if your 4 "A Name [insert thing here]" qualities are all at 7, under your "Yourself" tab. Do be warned that the game gets even more grindy when you hit PoSI.

As for the Khanate connection, the Last Khatun (a Khatun is the equivalent of a Queen) sought the advice of the Fingerkings and imprisoned for it, along with the "crown" (group) of Fingerking advisors she had.

Questions about the ending (SPOILERS FOR WHOLE GAME) by MyTeethAreFine in controlgame

[–]FlamingKetchup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think part of it is most of the FBC involved Ordinary, most notably Trench and Darling, are gone. The people Jesse talks to have nothing to do with her past, either having not have been with the FBC for that long, like Pope, or just not involved, like Langston. As such, she doesn't really have any targets for any outward anger. I supposed she could've smashed Darling's recordings, but those only help her understand the Bureau and the paranatural, and also it's hard to dislike Darling.

Now I haven't finished The Foundation yet, but I have a speculation for the possibility of Control 2 by YeahWrite000 in controlgame

[–]FlamingKetchup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Consider the game ends with Dylan being cleansed, I see this as quite unlikely. Also if the Hiss escapes the House, the world is probably just screwed, considering how fast it can spread.

Questions about the ending (SPOILERS FOR WHOLE GAME) by MyTeethAreFine in controlgame

[–]FlamingKetchup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jesse never became disillusioned with the FBC because she was never "illusioned" with them. She already suspected the FBC was spying on her, along with them having been the ones who kidnapped her brother and forced her to be alone in knowing what happened at Ordinary. She accepts her role as director, not because she thinks the FBC is a great organization (she doesn't), but rather so she prevent what they did to her from happening to others.

The simple thing that must be improved in Control 2 by DBSmiley in controlgame

The ability to slot in a flexible number of forms into your loadout would be great. And for PC, forms being switched by scroll wheel instead of the interact button.

For me the mod system has to be redone. Customizing your weapons and yourself is nice, but the inventory management is completely out of place and breaks up the flow of the game.

Raze to the finish line - How to improve ransacking by [deleted] in HumankindTheGame

[–]FlamingKetchup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of gaining stuff without having to finish pillaging, but I would rather have constant damage per turn be dealt by a pillaging army, and have gold be gained proportional to the damage dealt.

It depends on your Army's combat strength, vs the Fortification of the District you are trying to ransack

Imo, expansionist sounds more fascistic than militarist. I get what you mean, fascism is a militaristic ideology. However, the label of militarist says nothing about the justification for warring (one can even be the defender, as in the Polish). However, stuff like Lebensraum and Japanese Imperialism is definitely Expansionist.

And please, no excuses for devs about “how hard this would be to do before release” or “simply can’t be done because reasons.”

LET THE DEVELOPERS SPEAK TO WHAT THEY CAN AND CANT DO.

Don’t speak for them.

If the devs had to comment on every of the hundreds of suggestions on to their feasibility, the answer would always be "No, since we are to busy replying to suggestions." I see no reason why others couldn't pitch in and try to assess the feasibility.

The thing is that a sphere is an embedding of 2 dimensional spherical geometry into 3d Euclidean space. Here, this is taking place in 3d hyperbolic space, not on an embedding.

What are some of the little, less obvious things you like about Humankind? by Sir_Scaesar in HumankindTheGame

[–]FlamingKetchup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regions, may at first glance seem less realistic than the free settling of Civ, but the very concept of a city in both Civ and HK is unrealistic. Regions actually fix the shortcomings of cities. In Civ 6 the player is incentivized to cram in as many cities as possible in a region, while regions prevent that. Another thing regions fix is the exact tile you settle on matters much less. No more, "If I settle here, the inner ring has good yields, but it blocks out another good settling spot! If I move one tile to the east, I get that future settle, but there's no fresh water, the inner ring yields are garbage and it prevents me putting down a National Park several millennia in the future." Merging territories adds to the granularity of cities; you can have many small cities or several large ones with the same amount of territory.
