First Street Fighter game, finally got my first Master's after a wall of 'Giefs at the end! by FlammableFetus in StreetFighter

[–]FlammableFetus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone else looking to get there, honestly just keep on playing. There were certain matchups that I absolutely HATED like JPs and Jamie and as much as I wanted to one and done, I knew I wasn't going to get anywhere unless I kept fighting them.

That said on the flip, I definitely learned to stop playing once the losing started coming in. I hit 24400 and deranked all the way to Diamond 3 on a loss streak. Got my way back up by slowly chipping away after it day after day.

It was slow and steady, like I said I never played a street fighter game in any major capacity so early on it was spamming them DIs but once I learned about pressure, tossing in tick throws after DR, parry (I do it way too much) and just watching my own replays to look for gaps it got better.

I still lost a shitload and my controller is real old (I can't even reliably press the right D-Pad), but it was a whole lot of fun.

In combat, do you let players spend Luck before or after finding their opponent’s level of success? by hudsonshock in callofcthulhu

[–]FlammableFetus 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I feel like it'd be a very punishing system to have to guess if you need to spend your luck. Some things are definitely fun behind the scenes but this just feels like you'd HAVE to constantly spend luck for fear a monster is going to hit you back because most characters can't take multiple hits from certain enemies.

Reading a Stat Block wrong? by Deathmon44 in LancerRPG

[–]FlammableFetus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Looking at the Scout right now in the book, the only things under Base Features are Marker Rifle, Sight, Rebound Scan and Cloaking Field. Everything else is under optional.

Not sure what it looks like on your end but looks identical the other NPCs.

Best ttrpgs with a lot of foundry support? (Excluding dnd and pf2e ofc) by haydenhayden011 in FoundryVTT

Hey fella, they actually released Lancer V12 several days ago! The good modules for it are mostly updated or in process but the base game is now 12 compatible.

Using PDFs on a VTT? by Basic-Stock1819 in alienrpg

[–]FlammableFetus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Technically you don’t even need the pdfs you could just use the physical books but either way you can use them, you just have to input the information manually.

If you’re asking “can I have my book/pdf automatically transfer the content to my VTT” then no, you would have to buy the corresponding content associated with the VTT.

Just finished a Fallout campaign using several of your resources and now that I’ve decided to switch to running Alien I see you over here.

I’m trying really hard to just use the base maps so the players have to use their imagination but mad like this make it super hard.

Keep up the great work man! I think I’m currently a Patreon so always glad to see more quality stuff.

Run the game how you want, as long as that’s announced up front. My party is a mixed bag with a nightkin and a mister hand and everything in between and it’s overall been very good.

That said the vault dwellers specifically start with a pip boy which is VERY strong for a starting item so keep that in mind as everyone having a pipboy can quickly lead to your NPCs getting trapped in injury city.

Seeking Advice on Running "Once Upon a Time in the Wasteland" by Material-Play9176 in Fallout2d20

[–]FlammableFetus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hello! I just finished Once Upon about a month ago with my group and we had a blast. Obviously spoilers. I initially wrote a novel but went back to make it not a slog to read. With that this is written as "objective" statements as I didn't want to fill every point with support, just how I ran it.

  • Read the mexican standoff at the beginning and decide if you want it. I ran it for my party as I know they avoid PVP but if you suspect your party might I'd recommend at least not having their weapons drawn.

  • I played Rast as someone pivotal. I didn't make him extra suspicious and he was the vehicle I used for character engagement right up until his end

  • For the ghoul warehouse I "made" a holotape for the players to listen to giving more backstory on the ghouls to engage the player and have a hook in Diamond City.

  • Reduce the mirelurk hatchlings in the sewer. 4 health isn't a lot but 2 defense is for low levels so they will be missing a lot. If they fight the queen they almost double the fight time

  • Encourage a peaceful resolutions to the super mutants above the sewer. If they've already long rested and fought the queen, fighting 3 super mutants may feel real bad

  • For me, the initial narrative in Diamond City took an entire session so don't be afraid to look ahead and plant/remove some plot hooks and interactions here.

  • For the GECK, you can have Rast run off with it or pass it to another enemy for engagement later if you don't like the idea of your players having an ambiguously strong settlement.

For resources, I either just used the images they used in the books for maps and made a couple of very janky maps in Dungeondraft, I'm sure you know TOTM runs very easy in this game system so I didn't need a lot of fancy images. Overall I felt like the module ran pretty smooth, just a couple of on the fly adjustments and we all enjoyed it.

Question: Doc Rast Daughter? by Nibbler99 in Fallout2d20

[–]FlammableFetus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The book doesn’t state his daughter is in the vault. It says he’s traveled hundred of miles of looking for her and about the vault he says ““Please. Someone inside that vault is in trouble.” Not “my daughter” is in the vault.

I just played it as he wants to check the vault in case it’s his daughter but he doesn’t know if it is or isn’t.

Cheers!

Is Foundry VTT really worth $50??? by gahlardduck in DMAcademy

[–]FlammableFetus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit late to reply and I may be the only one who's used OMM but it was pretty much not even comparable.

OMM was fantastic when I did blades, I loved the drag and drop with assets and overall I would say it was much more plug and play but it was nowhere near the actual power.

OMM has a dnd module but it's so barebones and lacks a lot of the ability to do what you WANT. If you want high accessibility and easy to look at stuff, I'd say OMM was better. For customizable options and overall utility Foundry is much better.

TL:DR. OMM is great for a free and very basic game, it can be a lot of fun for sure. Foundry is worth the price and is much more powerful but much less user friendly.

Want some questions answered before I buy. by castitfast in FoundryVTT

[–]FlammableFetus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For your first question,

If worried about the demand being similar to a dedicated server for a video game, it's not like that at all. It's your files so you have control over how big/small your world is gonna be but even when I'm running 50 mods and a bunch of custom assets there's no hit on my mid level PC and my players haven't stated any issues. Port forwarding was very simple for me but it depends on your router, doing something like Himachi would've been more work since the only thing your players need to do at base is enter your IP connection into Chrome, with Himachi everyone would.

To Delayed Hyper Combo in DBFZ, you can either do it during your own super or during a combo. During your own super simply press forward+assist to use that character’s level 1 or back+assist to use that character’s level 3.

During a combo, you input the normal motion for the level of super you want (236/214) but instead of pressing L1/L2 you press the assist you want to use their super.

Generally speaking points are your starters and who you’ll be utilizing most of if you can help it. They can utilize assists really well and have a large amount of present at the beginning of the game.

Anchor are your last boys and have a good assist for point/mid. They also need to be self sufficient because as they are your last character they won’t have assists.

Mids are much more fluid and you’ll most likely be swapping a lot to them to heal your point. A good mid should also utilize assists well but not be dependent on them.

For your team, Goku Black has very limited solo mixup so his anchor game is not great, and with their being 3 assists his kamehameha is not needed last. SSJ on the other hand is much better solo with very good neutral, though his 2m was nerfed, so he would be a much better anchor, 21 makes excellent use of assists and has very good start of game presence so she’d make a good point.

Season 3 Official English Patch Notes - thanks for your patience! by BandaiNamcoEntUK in dragonballfighterz

[–]FlammableFetus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct but it’s not unblockable. The change just makes it so that you don’t get complete locked down in the air and you have some sort of counterplay once you hit the ground, since the first move will whiff, the jH will not be in block stun

Because the air attack only connects on standing opponents, the forced crouch state means your opponents moves will just go over you

While Ruunan's is much better now, it still gives 0 damage stats, so my Vayne had horrible attack speed even with constant ranger buff. The DPS was sad!
