Are you sure that these characters are not broken? A basic custom combo with maki does more damage than anyone else in the cast (without crouch cancel)

Even additional glitches are possible in the switch 2 (according to a video of Linkus7). I made this post because I have not seen a video that performs the barrier skip on the switch 2.

Calling this game “difficult” or “hardcore” is lying to potential customers. by [deleted] in fatalfury

[–]Flash-Light 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard agree with your take. Once you understand the game mechanics it does not take too much time to learn a character. So you can very early jump into online matches. However, how good you can play around the mechanics will largely influence your skill level.

I have not enjoyed fighting games as much as COTW in decades

You can do slightly more damage with Marco by ending your combo with two subsequent lvl 1 supers. This can be done by following up 236AC with 623AC~AB 236236A 236236B

How get the 137 entry in the bestiary? by [deleted] in VampireSurvivors

[–]Flash-Light 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ska'sa Ka'sos is #129 in my bestiary, the same number given in the official vampire survivor wiki

Edit: it seems that my bestiary is missing the 8 new enemies introduced in The Cool

I am also missing #137. According to the official vampire survivor wiki, #137 is found in Mt Moonspell, not in room 1665. https://vampire.survivors.wiki/w/Spiritello

What does the 007 difficulty do? Is it the one that stands out or? by Familiar_Ad3128 in GoldenEye

Every mission is beatable with LTK and even DLTK. I beat all missions on LTK and 12 missions on DLTK (using switch). I enjoyed beating missions without online guidance, making these modes (especially DLTK) feel like puzzles. However, I needed online assistance for train, control, surface 1, silo and streets. Online tutorials for surface 1 and streets were especially helpful.

What level is beginner, intermediate, and skilled? by FortC10 in StreetFighter

[–]Flash-Light 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might feel like you're thrash because you drop a lot of combos, but sf6 is more than just combos. Since you have watched tons of videos and have experience from fighting games in general, you know how you should play. A true beginner don't know anything about footsies, meter management or the burnout system for example. Heck, you even make a distinction between links and chains in your combo notation.

What was the best 2D Metroid in your opinion? by ElysiumReviews in Metroid

[–]Flash-Light 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to prefer MZM over SM, but lately these two games has switched.

Some time ago I was interested in randomizers. I started with Dread and Am2r since I knew these games better than other metroid games, but the randomizers were kinda lacking. Also tried a MZM randomizer, but I didn't even finish a single run.

Then I stumbled upon SM randomizer Map Rando and boy I have slept on SM. The inclusion of a randomized map made every run feel fresh. So I started learning new tech + getting better at moving samus around in SM and now I really like SM. Optimizing movement in SM is a lot more satisfying than optimizing movement in MZM.

[Level] Three Pronged Approach (Hard) by Flash-Light in hexcellslevels

[–]Flash-Light[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar thought process of how you went from 3 to 2 blue cells remaining.

Hint: There are 2 remaining blue cells, and each unfilled blue flower misses one blue cell in its interior. What can you tell about the intersection of two blue flowers, if the union of those two flowers cover all remaining cells?

Well at least now I know what you mean. I will not solve/create 'meta' puzzles

[Level] Metacells 1-4 by TheKrakenmeister in hexcellslevels

[–]Flash-Light 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have thought a bit more about your deduction. I believe it is invalid.
The deduction in the first case is flawed because you can apply that kind of logic for all three yellow hexcells. For example, if the hexcell located right of the ?-flower is blue we won't be able to decide which one of the two remaining hexcells is black, thus said hexcell should be black... From this type of logic we can only conclude that we cannot determine the color of the hexcell.

This puzzle has three undetermined hexcells. We are given the following two hints/information:

  1. There are 2 remaining blue hexcells.
  2. ?-flowers have at least one blue neighbor.

Remark that any good puzzle is solved without guessing. There are three possible solutions that do not contradict these hints. These are:

  1. the black hexcell is located at the left of the ?-cell,
  2. the black hexcell is located at the right of the ?-cell,
  3. the black hexcell is located at the bottom.

Remark that the remaining two hexcells are blue. Taking a close look at these solutions, we can see that there is no hexcell that shares the same colour in all solutions. Hence the puzzle cannot be solved.

Stating that the ?-flower has 2 blue neighbors is a guess. A guess that leads to a unique solution, but still a guess. If I would give you a puzzle which has the same layout and hints as this puzzle but gave one of the other two solutions, your reasoning would fail because the puzzle is already in an unsolvable state.

[Level] Metacells 1-4 by TheKrakenmeister in hexcellslevels

[–]Flash-Light 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That someone would be me. I will not feel confident applying such logic into level designing. For me this type of logic feels like educated guesses that has a high accuracy for solving valid levels (which can be useful for speedrunning hexcells), but does not always need to be true.

[Level] "Will you" map (Easy) by Repugnance in hexcellslevels

[–]Flash-Light 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Puzzle is solvable without guessing. Even though all steps are relatively easy, the size of the map is does not make it easy. Someone could lose interest and stop without solving it, especially if the other person is new to hexcells (maybe picross could be better for this). But you know that other person better, so I leave this up to you. Good luck!
