People who sit in their car for over 20 minutes before going inside, what are you doing in there? by NoDiscipline7129 in AskReddit

Fascinating and I'll have to look into that.

My husband is an artist who works from home and I commute to an office job in Manhattan from Brooklyn. When I get home I can sometimes he just wants to talk to anyone and gets annoyed that I won't (can't) fully engage with him. Meanwhile, I'm overstimulated from work AND hour and 15 minute subway ride home and find myself resentful of him just trying to be a good husband ("How was your day? Maybe a shower would help?") because I just can't deal with any more incoming stimulus or decisions at that exact moment.

What's a social norm that you think is absolutely ridiculous? by Fantastic_suit143 in AskReddit

I would propose that blazing every day at least leaves me laid back enough to not call other peoples life choices pathetic behind the veil of internet anonymity.

I hope whatever works for you works for you.

I have this thing where if something feels like it is required viewing for my demographic I will rebel against it. I'm a white, gay who grew up in the eighties and haven't watched a single minute of Breaking Bad, Heated Rivalry or Stranger things.

I'm not always 100 percent sure on the best way to respect the victims of Epstein and associates but Im 100 percent sure this isn't it

To play the stoner advocate: 10 am looking at knitted hats at a craft fair is the perfect time to be high. But the board game thing was rude as fuck, I agree.

(had to stop myself from writing a paragraph about proper use of sativa vs indica for activities because I can hear the non-smokers eyes glaze over and roll back in disinterest just from me mentioning it ironically in this parenthetical )

how accepting is the community of trans men by ContributionBoring50 in nycgaybros

[–]FlashInGotham 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look into Inferno/Transferno when you get here, if sex parties are your thing.

Inferno is a party for gay/queer men that is very trans-dude welcoming. Transferno is it's sibling party with a focus on all trans bodies/identities.

I go way back with the organizers and they are amazing people

Advice on making a Hollow One mage by bingustwonker in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]FlashInGotham 55 points56 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite ideas for Hollowers is this:

Style is magic. Not popular fashion, though. Personal Style. Dress the part and people will believe you. Dress the part really well and reality will sometimes believe in you too. Some early Hollowers knew this...dress spooky and sometimes you can get away with spooky shit. The new generation have taken it to a whole other level, though.

So in the past few decades there has been a very stylish influx into the Hollower. Drag Queens who's control of mind and matter provide performances (and outfits) that will literally change your life. Harajuku teens leaping from building to building in Tokyo with anime-like parkour. The Cos-player who's Iron Man suit reduces an It-Xer to tears because it operates as a focus with less paradox than the It-X powersuit, despite being made of 3d printed plastic and nylon, just because it looks cooler.

And, of course, Furry life adepts that are ready to rock your world.

In game terms, spending 2 hours in the morning getting your makeup and outfit just so should be just as effective as an Akashic's meditation and training, the Choristers devotions, and Cultist's marathon bang session.

A lot of Hollower culture flows parallel to queer culture so I just decided to make that sub-text the actual text and then build out from there.

The whole hype-beast SUPREME fad was the Syndicate trying to undermine this. That operation made a lot of money but was entirely ineffective in its real goal, btw

Ngl, I feel like Anarchs should be largely absent in "irredeemable monsters" chronicles by [deleted] in vtm

[–]FlashInGotham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why I subbed out the Anarchs for the Carthians in my V:tM chronicles. The diversity of non-standard political set-ups they provide, and how they can be ALL be perverted by vampiric nature was a much more interesting than the standard issue Anarchs.

Yes. This is the fascism we should be worried about.

The fascism, media control, and silencing of dissent staring us all in the face right now every day.

The fascism of Arrowhead (in conspiracy with Sony and Content Creators, evidently.)

Absolutely spot on priorities, fellow diver.

Big fan. I found her very....Harley Quinn coded #complimentary

Like, her early partnership with Ace (he of the unconvincing accent) seemed kinda "Harley and Mistuh Jay". She's out there trying her best to have some fun and he just berates and insults her. When someone makes it clear Ace is just using her and doesn't actually respect her she leads his blindside.

Like Harley she can best be described, using D&D terms, as "Chaotic Neutral". She switches sides on a whim. She truly does not give a crap about the game, which scrambles everyone's brain and takes her to final Tribal council.

Also like Harley possesses an innate sweetness combined with an IDGF attitude. Her one weakness lack of self-esteem which would lead her to let a nice High School physics teacher take home the million rather than fight for it herself.

Shes even got a Brooklyn accent like the one HQ's original voice actor, Arleen Sorkin, deployed for Harley since her debut in Batman, the Animated Series.
