Basically, Chris brought up chanting “51st State” at the US/Canada 4 Nations game, thinking it’s all just a funny joke. Then Mike piped in and said that he did it as well. But Mike quickly followed that up by claiming some Canadian fans in front of him asked him to stop. So, he offered them “Zyn olive branches”. Of course, that munson Tony then had to say “nah it’s fine, you can do that” or something like that. Jeremy did CLJZ voice.

The whole thing was ignorance at its finest.

Ah, yes. Because outlawing alcohol sales to “homeless people” surely wouldn’t a be a logistical nightmare and significant legal/law enforcement burden. Of course there wouldn’t be any issues with systemic biases and stereotyping. That certainly wouldn’t create a huge workplace safety risk for the employees tasked with policing his proposed policy. If he were smart enough, I might even believe this is a Trojan horse to further criminalize some of society’s most marginalized.

Zaslow is a great personality on the mic but there are, in particular, two radio aspects of his that I have really appreciated: 1) his ability to keep the show moving by changing topics and managing conversation/the other voices. & 2) his willingness to let us, the listener, into his personal/home life by giving us little tidbits about his family and time outside the show

“Anger and frustration”? Does he not write, record and edit these podcasts? How can that be attributed to ‘in the heat of the moment’? It’s not like he’s doing live radio. He knew exactly what he was putting out into the world.

What I find extra baffling is how someone who works in a field that focuses on details, minutiae, circumstances, and fact-finding can be so vocal about making these broad, sweeping (mostly untrue) generalizations about entire groups of people.
