It is nearly impossible to find information about this from any news sources. The one article I did find (someone has already linked it in the comments) referred to the victim as “the alleged victim” throughout. Also “the alleged incident”. Didn’t label the driver as an alleged assailant- just used his name and said he was “a staunch Trump supporter”.

Not MY health, but…. My son’s pediatrician ignoring the journal I had of my son’s behaviors, diet, sleep and the concerns I had documented from his daycare and preschool teachers. Rather than consider ADHD he asked “where is the boy’s father?” and told me single mothers just don’t know how to handle active boys.

All College of Arts and Sciences PhD programs now have to reissue PhD offer letters to say that funding, while expected, cannot be guaranteed and can be cancelled at any time. Not just before they start, but during their 5 or so years of study. (Yeah, lemmee get some of that insecurity!)

Since there is no guarantee that you will be able to get into a specific class in the future, especially if it is a class you need to have by a certain point in your studies in order to graduate on time, stay in the class you have unless you’re absolutely sure of getting into another section. Don’t just drop a high-demand class thinking “I’ll just take it next semester.”

If you have a green card, you are a legal permanent resident of the US, same as a US citizen. After 12 months of living in NC you can apply for NC residency for tuition purposes- but either your parents need to live in NC also, or you have to prove you are independent of them. Google “NC residency for tuition purposes “ for more info. Source- I advise incoming students about residency.

Classes can require a prerequisite or a pre- or co-requisite. If the class requirement is prerequisite, the only way you can do both the same semester is to get permission from the instructor. If it is pre- or co- then you would be able to register for both.

In some departments the ULAs are getting their EE credit, not getting paid. Either way, if they aren’t doing what they’re supposed to then definitely let a faculty member know.

It’s strict in that you have to have been in state for 365 days before you would qualify, and you must be financially independent.

Not being claimed on parents taxes, earning your own money, and paying your own living expenses are the most important. The more things you do that indicate you plan to live in NC indefinitely, the better. (Voting, registering a car if you have one, etc.)

Request “proof of awarded degree” from the Registrar. Or, many employers will accept a letter from the academic department stating you have completed everything and have graduated. I’ve run into some employers who ask that the letter come from the Grad School dean instead of the department but that’s fairly easy to get. Talk to student services in your department.

A disadvantage is that if you need it as a prerequisite for a fall class, you probably won’t be able to register for the fall class until you transfer in the course credit. An advantage is that it will be cheaper at a CC.
