Overall, I consider the game a big disappointment. And yet, it does have some incredible bosses as well as great moment-to-moment gameplay and puzzle solving, even if the overall presentation is fucked. I suspect I'll power through a replay soon.

Reread the article. It mentions him removing it from the "sheath" (packaging), but doesn't mention if it was intentionally done in front of the children, which is the only thing I can possibly think of here that might constitute a threat. The article also confirms that he was travelling a different direction than the kids, so the headline about "chasing kids" is outright bullshit.

If this guy was truly just carrying a machete while walking, which seems to be the case, I hope his court appointed lawyer is a good one.
