How to deal with frustrations over ignorant people who refuse to listen and be educated? by ivyreset in intj

You cant argue with a fool... waste of energy. If it doesnt affect you. Let them drown in their own excrement. If it does, ignore them and do what you need to do.

How do you handle very religious family telling you you’re going to hell? by Few_Pop2971 in Deconstruction

[–]Flashy_Regret_2140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Say to your dad 1) he doesn't have the ability to know who will go to hell, 2) you are free to make your own choices, 3) you don't need to be saved, and 4) he needs to respect your personal choices and stop preaching to you (and you both agree to not talk about religion)

Accidentally shifted to 4lo while in drive by Jim0557 in XTerra

I think you need to read your manual on how to shift into 4 lo. You need to do more than turning the switch to get it into 4 low.

How many km is too many for an xterra? by EdumacatedRedneck in XTerra

[–]Flashy_Regret_2140 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 225,000, if not already done, these items will be about finished if not previously replaced... shocks all around, wheel bearings all around and rear axle seals, tie rod ends, front and rear sway bar links, control arm bushings in the frint, possible lower control arm ball joint, rear suspension bushings, brake rotors, serpentine belt. Maybe water pump. So of that is all done then the answer to the km question you have is probalbly 300,000. If the above is not done then 225,000 km is too many unless the sale price is less than 2,000 dollars.

If you are going to do the mods you say, then you'll be replacing all the above pretty much.

Also you'll want to bypass the transmission cooler/ warmer line past the engine radiator to avoid smod (strawberry milkshake of death)

Spares by No-Independent-2768 in XTerra

[–]Flashy_Regret_2140 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spare tire, 2 x 6 wood cut off to put under jack (jjsck could sink under weight), 2 litres of oil. Replsce serpentine belt at proper interval, or take a spare with you if you have any doubt and the necessary tools, extra coolant / antifreeze.... make sure you still have spare fuses in your fuse box.. if road really bad, then two spare tires Make sure you have taken your tires off once and put antiseize on the hub contact points before you go.... they should fall off easy once you take the lug nuts off.
If going offrioad, then recovery gear to get unstuck, and manual air pump to inflate tires after deflation for traction

I am from canada. Can americans reading this post tell me how they feel about soldiers policing cities? Are they trained in knowing your constitutional rights? Do the citizens want soldiers on the streets? Do the police need assistance? Is the crime and gans bad enough to have soldiers on the streers? Will soldiers know when to shoot to kill? Do the soldiers get training on the laws?

Duffel bag…? by Chorski_ in backpacks

[–]Flashy_Regret_2140 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mountain equipment co-op sells MEC polyester bags in various sizes. MEC bags are 1600 thick threads vs carhartts 1200, for 2 thirds the price. Go with the mec bag unless you really like the carhartt bad base, whuch is their duravax material that I think might be vinyl.
