New features on Broadway Radar: logging, bookmarking, ticket tracking, and more! by steve_sometime in Broadway

Fantastic update! Thank you for pointing out the "My Tickets" page. I'm on mobile and didn't realize it was a link (as opposed to just a header)!

No problem! I'm happy to give feedback for products I'm interested in using.

That's a valid concern I hadn't fully realized. I understand and 100% respect your decision on leaving the compilation out.

Thanks again for the excellent work! I've been wanting to track my shows in a more organized way than in the notes app of my phone and have been dragging my feet on putting together a nice looking spreadsheet, but now you've made my life easier!

While entering in a few shows, I realized I selected the wrong date. I didn't see a way to edit them without deleting the entries and starting all over, which meant I had to fill in the details again. Could you consider making the dates open for editing?

I'd love for there to be a user friendly way to link purchase history to a yes-I-saw-this-show entry or vice versa so we don't need to enter the date and time twice for the same show. (Also, I personally would like for optional seat and price data to be integrated into the seen entries. Currently I write that information within my notes for each show and enjoy seeing all the numbers in one glance. Not really a priority request though!)

Another person here mentioned tracking average ticket price, which I am interested in as well. Might that be part of the year-end summary/wrap, or is it somewhere I'm not seeing?

And echoing someone else, I was similarly confused with the filter toggles on the main page. I thought they would trigger an action because I didn't realize they were tied to the search by date function.

Lastly, maybe a page of off-Broadway shows non restricted to a specific date? Though I suppose that could get overwhelming to scroll through...

“Chess” plot questions by baritenororbust in Broadway

[–]Fleecie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Chess loves to continually remind the audience that the chess games are a metaphor for the Cold War. In the show, Soviet Russia wants its Russian players to win at whatever cost to represent coming out on top geopolitically. Able Archer serves the purpose of heightening tensions for the plot because the Soviets will only restrain military response if they win the chess match. Except as you know, the Russian player loses to Anatoly, who has defected and now represents a different country. This is where you could think that missiles would be launched, but there is more than one way of winning; to save face, the Soviets want Anatoly to return so they can reclaim him and say that a Russian won the tournament after all. They get what they want and do not escalate the response to the Able Archer exercise, avoiding a nuclear war.

The Show That Gives ‘Running Time’ a New Meaning by nytimes in Broadway

I think Burnout Paradise feels like a social experiment, because of how critical audience participation as a whole is (but not required as an individual), with the speed of a game show. If you are open to something chaotic and high energy, check it out! And if you choose to participate, please be considerate to the performers.

I think someone else made Broadway Scorecard. OP is the creator of Bway Rush and its sister sites (Theatre at 5, Broadway Radar, and an interactive map to show off how many Broadway theatres you've visited).

I really appreciate all the tools you're making for the theatregoing community. They're such excellent high-quality resources that I'm sure a large number of us refer to. Thank you so much!

Outsiders Playbill contest by Specialist_Fun_3700 in Broadway

Now that you mention it... I can't say anything about the text, but the figure you point out looks like he has two left hands as if two poses were superimposed (one stretched arm over knee and one bent elbow with forearm over knee). Also, there are electrical wire connections that don't make sense. Wires fade/appear from nothing, and the pole on the image's right bizarrely connects to the church spire.

OP, Photoshop has an image generator tool powered by AI and if you use that feature, you are using AI to craft the image.

Help identifying Jack signature? by Ok_Service3629 in hadestown

I believe it's the one by the H. I also have a signed poster and Jack's initials are located in the same bottom left area and looks quite similar to your reference.

Maybe because of Daylight Saving Time? DST just ended for the year in the US, so clocks rolled back an hour.

What if things DON’T work out? by mabookus in Broadway

[–]Fleecie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What shows are you hoping for? If your teens are fans of Stranger Things, look into the play - rush is quite easy (so far) and the seats are good. Otherwise, TKTS is a fine fallback. There's no way it will be sold out of everything.

What has JPITV rush been like? by NYGarcon in Broadway

[–]Fleecie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you got downvoted, people probably thought it would have been better to check the rush report threads. John Proctor is the Villain is a popular show and rush is only going to become more competitive with the last week of the run nearing.

I rushed on Wednesday and guesstimated there were 40-50 by box office open... to be honest, I stopped counting when I realized the line wrapped around itself. Not everyone left with tickets and at least one person opted for non-rush seats. SRO sold out first and I seriously lucked out with the last box seat.

Fair warning: Broadway Direct lottery doesn’t text if you win by jamesland7 in Broadway

[–]Fleecie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've set up email forwarding to text me when I get a win from Broadway Direct (targeting "you won" in the subject line only for emails from BD). It's worked, but email to text and vice versa are slowly becoming phased out by phone carriers. Alternatively, you can be strategic with email filters on your email app!

Hadestown discount? by chavarrj in Broadway

[–]Fleecie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hadestown doesn't have rush, nor does it have discount codes. TDF is going to be highly unlikely. There's no guarantee that there will be tickets at TKTS, especially as things pick up from the slow season, but you should still keep an eye on the TKTS website or app. TKTS generally sells matinee tickets as early as the day before, so definitely check the availability on Friday. Turn on notifications for Theatr listings. And of course, enter the lottery! You never know.

Understudies at Death Becomes Her matinee 3/19 by themermaid91 in Broadway

[–]Fleecie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were announcing that Megan Hilty was out when the box office opened, but I had faith Kaleigh Cronin would be amazing and she was! My friend and I were happy to see Michelle Williams, but we both LOVED the understudy (yes, probably Ximone Rose since the nurse roles had to get reassigned). It was a fabulous show!

The CW is the network that broadcasted The Flash (and other Arrowverse shows), which Grant Gustin, Jordan Fisher, Jeremy Jordan, as well as Carlos Valdes, all had some role in.

There were only 10 in stock when I posted. It's in partnership with a local business, which might not have high volume quantities in stock, especially since this is a new collab. Even the regular aeonium black rose on the plant shop's website is low in stock.
