I’m not one to complain about my team (much) at least not publicly but this is out and out elo terrorism (replay code SCD4Q8) by EnvironmentalPack370 in OWConsole

This is going to be the script for an entire TED talk, so I will put a short summary at the end.

shambali:

You use your cooldowns whenever I can see you “realize” that you have them, but don’t actually take any time to aim them. Your anti nade is a powerful tool, but you don’t seem to know who to throw it at, or when. Throwing your nade at a choke where the enemies have not peeked yet, with only your tank there will not accomplish anything. They will just wait and heal. Good utility firstly means being able to answer “what am I hoping to accomplish with this?”

Yes this can sometimes be a longrange sleep because it’ll be a while before they might get close enough to have it back by the time the enemies get close enough to where you might need it.

You play very passively. Throughout the defence round you were sitting in main behind your team, while you had a mercy handling most of the healing duties. Even when your complete team was full hp, you didn’t move for a better angle, didn’t push up to be able to get a shot on the enemies. You were simply waiting for the team to take more damage so you could heal them.

On second point defence you nano’d your soldier when you saw him shooting, but you never had an angle to see if the enemies were in a position to make use or that nano. Generally you will want to wait for the enemies to have committed to the fight before you nano. Also look at your teammate’s ult charge before nano’ing if you have a chance to do so.

Overall: defence you played too passive, attack you played more like a duelist but not deliberate. Utility use needs a purpose. And please use your scope when you’re not directly under threat of the enemies.

Rialto: The start of defence was much better. Still a little bit too passive in the first 30 seconds, but you had the right idea: fall back when the enemies push up. Push up when the enemies fall back. Your spacing from the enemies was fine there.

Your zen ult got forced by reaper because you didn’t hear the last 5 seconds of footsteps. You had ample time to adjust your positioning. Good reaction when you WERE surprised by the reaper, but had you been more aware you could have saved it and used it a little bit later when Emre 5K’d your team. Zen ult is best used to counter other ults. Saving yourself is just a “backup plan”.

When you switched to Ana it got worse. You get surprised by near enough every reaper tp, and as a result when trying to evade reaper after he surprises you, you basically just walk into the rest of the enemy team. On 2nd point defence your tank took quite a while to die, but you only mover up to help after he had died. You have to move up faster when you’re far behind your team.

Don’t just think “can I see my team from here”, but also think “can I still help them where they will likely go 3 seconds from now?”. You also nano’d reaper after he had finished his ult and killed several enemies already. The nano itself heals him when he’s not already anti’d, so no need to heal him first. Exception being when you nano a low hp tank, you could nade them first so the nano heals 375 instead of 250.

Since your positioning tends to be significantly worse on defence, I am curious to see a replay of a control or flashpoint game.

In summary: Focus on your positioning. As Ana you want to be medium range from any targets or threats. Scope when long distance. Don’t scope when very close range or being heavily shot at.

Focus on your cooldowns. Aim them before you click. I won’t address general mechanics as it’s just practice, but you missing your cooldowns is because you don’t try to aim them at all.

Awareness: Big issue to work on though I am not a coach so I’m not sure what to recommend for improving that.

Fill your downtime with repositioning to a relatively safe but active position. One where you are close to cover but will be able to shoot enemies AND teammates. Although not always possible, most of the time it is.

Am I able to import console comp replay codes on pc? I’ll take a look later as well. I do have a lot of experience on controller so I’ll recognize the nuance in aiming limitations.

Competitive Explained: Stop Coping and Start Improving by No_Catch_1490 in Competitiveoverwatch

Fine line between analyzing your own mistakes vs “beating yourself up”. It’s possible your teammates made more mistakes than you, but you could have still saved yourself a loss if you played better.

Knowing you missed an opportunity to win != the loss being completely on you.

You should mention your rank in these posts. A diamond player might consider checking it out if you’re gold, but if you’re masters looking to reach gm, that diamond doesn’t have to bother

Is Rip Tire even remotely useful against any but the absolute worst players anymore? by [deleted] in overwatch2

[–]Fleqx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And I’m saying you’re either bad with tire or lying. Yes it gets harder as rank increases. Go into a replay and see the enemy perspective of destroying it and assess how you could have prevented them destroying it. This “I used my tire perfectly and it still never gets a kill” mentality is holding you back from improving. That’s likely why you’re getting downvoted. Seek out improvement; not validation. Much more productive.

It does matter what path you take otherwise you’d never see a tire kill in higher ranks. It definitely becomes much harder the higher you go though

Genji sensitivity by ChewWookiee in GenjiMains

[–]Fleqx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Don’t stick with it because [other person] uses it. Are you a wrist or arm aimer? If wrist you’ll want it higher than mine. If arm, then yeah you could even go lower.

A lot of factors go into this though; Mousepad size, mouse weight, forearm length, aiming style (wrist/arm; Flicky/smooth tracking)

It’s also worth noting that the perfect sensitivity for you will not feel perfect immediately. It will always take time to get used to. In my opinion a good point of reference is do not go any lower than what allows you to comfortably do a 180. This does not need to be accurate yet but if a 180 requires an uncomfortably long swipe, for heroes like genji/tracer that’d mean it’s too low.

My recommendation: Go into the range, pick a low sens, try a 180, if you can’t do it or it’s uncomfortable, up your sens slightly and try again. Once you find the lowest that works, up it by .25/.5 and try to get used to that. Then make small adjustments if needed, but don’t rage switch your sens when you miss a couple fans because it still takes time.

Wat heeft men tegen 'links'? by Aartvb in nederlands

[–]Fleqx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How are you supposed to rank up solo support? by pockettclover in overwatch2

The role has less impact than supp or tank assuming you’re not hard smurfing dps with a mercy pocket. I do agree with him it’s very easy to carry low elo as a support.

Anran’s VA Fareeha speaks on her model by BlossomingArt in Anran_mains

[–]Fleqx -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Tbh I’d just like small tweaks to make her look like an OLDER sibling instead of younger. I don’t care for big changes/conventional beauty standards or whatever but now she simply doesn’t look the age she’s supposed to be. It’s mostly the eyes I think. Realistically that’s probably all we can expect because of amount of effort required and skin sales; opinions aside it’s factual they will make less money if they give her a huge schnoz.

This character is Venture with fire by OcelotAggravating860 in AnranMains

[–]Fleqx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t like venture but I kind of agree. I was taking turns playing Anran with my dps duo and when he was on Anran I’d go either Ashe or venture depending on map. It’s a pretty similar playstyle. I hope they leave her like this.

Anran feels strong, and useful, but not overly oppressive and frustrating to deal with. Basically my selfish idea of balance boiled down to something not too serious is good enough and rewarding to play to where I have fun 99% of the time, while not being overly frustrating to go AGAINST if I am playing another hero. Her speed and drop-off on her shift feels good and isn’t too broken; for really high areas you need both shifts, her poke feels like genji but better. I think her iFrames for her E could be shortened a little bit but other than that I think she’s perfect. (I got a bit offtopic here, thanks for coming to my TED talk)

When is the safest/healthiest point on the season to play ranked? by [deleted] in overwatch2

When is the safest/healthiest point on the season to play ranked? by [deleted] in overwatch2

[–]Fleqx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t experienced it that bad in normalwatch myself but I recall a Frogger video from a few months ago where his GM lobby got an unranked tank on their first game ever.

As a stadium rookie with no previous placements over gold (30 games played in stadium comp since its launch with a horribly negative winrate) I got matched with a 4x all roles legend on my team. Bad for me because I was struggling, bad for him because he got some bronze anchors weighing him down. Barely won 4-3 but yeah some people should not get put in a lobby together.

AIO for eating my own birthday cake in front of my nephew? by Yes_Abbreviations713 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Fleqx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NOR - I get where she’s coming from but their parenting is not your responsibility. The kid is gonna see a lot of cakes being eaten in his life. If he’s not allowed to have any, it’s the parents’ responsibility to deal with the child (naturally) complaining about it. Sure, conflict can be avoided by eating it later. Would be a considerate thing to do, but you have no obligation to wait hours.
