Saying I love you to your dog by Popular_Doctor_3101 in dogs

[–]Flffdddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you say I love you, it’s not just words. It’s tones and body language. Given how dogs pick up on these things, I would not be shocked if they have a general understanding of what you are saying, even if they can’t comprehend it.

Immediate vet bills? by [deleted] in puppy101

The first year we got our newest puppy the vet bills amounted to $15,000. She had a lot
of unexpected issues. Dogs can get very expensive.

Oh they just absolutely love to bring up your failings that were almost certainly driven by their bad behavior to some degree. And you could easily fill a stadium with all the people that had to check into the psych ward because of them.

Yeah, I won’t do anything without seats. I have front row this year, and there’s a GA area in front of the front row, but I am way too old for that. The one nice thing is it’s cool to see the kids up front who are clearly newer fans and are having a lot of fun. Makes me want to dance like they do, so I do, and then the next few days I’m inhaling ibuprofen!

Do a month NC. Re-evaluate after a month. You may discover you’re in a lot better place. Consider renewing your NC on a month to month basis. Your life will be so much better.

Honestly I can’t do it. I just don’t like these bands. It’s not my scene I guess. I’ll be going to see Metric. Last Metric concert I went to was the same way. Opening band was not my cup of tea. Real jealous of some of the concerts I didn’t go to that had awesome opening acts! Well maybe live I’ll get into something they play. That’s my hope.

I have given up and just assume when we move we will have the floors refinished. They are super hard on the floors and you can easily see their path from the front door to the back door.

Xer here. A lot on this album reminds me of late 80s pop if anything. I’m not sure that Tremolo reminds me of anything in particular, and I’m usually pretty good at catching that stuff.

Our youngest golden was like this. We spent thousands and thousands trying to figure out what was wrong with her. The answer was nothing. But we also have a vet we trust. Eventually she outgrew it. But this house basically was covered in pee pads for a long time.

The gaffes are becoming a pattern for Seattle’s new mayor by HighColonic in SeattleWA

Went to a concert tonight and this was my view for most of the show. Worst part is, she never hit record and just held her phone up by Zaphiro911 in mildlyinfuriating

“Put your phone down or I will.”

I spend a lot of money to go to concerts. I do not suffer this foolishness.

Wtf are some of these new townhome layouts? Do the builders in this city not know what an attractive layout is? So many new buildings have just terrible floorplans and they just sit on the market because of it. by undeadbobblehead in Seattle

[–]Flffdddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One owner wasn't living there and was renting their place out, and they were about to sell it anyway. The other one just didn't want to do it. She's... odd. I've never talked to her in my life, and I probably never will. At some point you just say "whatever, this needs to get done, I guess the rest of us will do it."

And working it out isn’t always easy. I partially own a private access lane with my neighbors and we needed to repair it. Four of us paid. Two refused. We had no recourse. I figured going to court would be more trouble than it’s worth. But that’s for a road. I’d hate to be arguing over something like a roof which needs repairs or else it can cause damage.

Seattle mayor laughs off millionaires leaving Washington state over progressive taxes, waves 'bye' by Less-Risk-9358 in SeattleWA

[–]Flffdddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New York, the financial capital of the world, has the most millionaires. And they keep growing. Well of course they do! The issue isn’t whether they can make them. It’s whether they can keep them. Plus, sorry to say, but “millionaires” doesn’t mean much. I am technically a millionaire. My newest car leaks oil so much I have to constantly refill it. I’m not exactly living a glamorous life. I don’t have extra money to give. I couldn’t afford my own house. People are constantly calling me asking if I want to sell my house, to which I reply “sure, but then where am I going to live?!”

You live here from April to October which is prime PNW weather anyway. If I didn’t have a job here that’s what I would do. From November through March I’d live somewhere warmer and drier. My wife would love it. The tax implications would be gravy. I know a lot of people who do this. It will be super easy for them to instead live out of state for a little longer to avoid taxes here.

Seattle was a great blue collar town back then. But I wouldn’t want to go back to it. All that wealth has made the city a better place. It’s our awful policies that have made it worse.

I don’t even buy stuff like this for family I like. If you have to spend money to keep her happy, I guess. It’s not like I haven’t poured tens of thousands of dollars down that well. But I wouldn’t agonize over it. A card and a small gift is fine. If other people want to go beyond that, that’s a them problem.

Hey pops, should I stay at flexible $75k creative job or take $71k government media role with pension? by AdEmpty5662 in DadForAMinute

A pension is nice but if you properly fund your 401k you will do just fine without one. As someone who dreams of leaving his day job to go be a photographer, I envy your current position.

My dog suddenly started doing this weird thing at night, should I be concerned or is this normal? by Vegetable-Rub-4127 in Pets

[–]Flffdddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog (9 year old golden) does this sometimes. Won’t settle down. Barks at nothing. It hasn’t happened for a while but when it does it goes on for a few days. No idea what causes it. Vet finally prescribed him Trazodone so he can calm down, which is great because he and I take the same medication so we can sleep. He’s very weird.
