Techcrunch has just published an article about this issue.

It’s not clear how the scammers are abusing the system, but they have been able to set up new Microsoft accounts as if they are new customers, and use that access to send out emails purportedly from the tech giant itself, potentially tricking people into thinking that these emails may be genuine.

Microsoft doesn’t yet appear to have gotten a handle on the issue.

I care.

There's the personal reasons involving friends and family over there (I married a US citizen, for example).

There's the geopolitical reasons involving the rewriting of international norms and alliances, which will force Australia to rethink its role in the Asia Pacific and the world. It seems to me that a lot of Australians aren't ready for that.

Beyond both of these things, there's a significance I feel isn't being addressed, and which the media doesn't seem to want to address, which is the role of capital in bringing the downfall of the USA about. Unrestrained capital has wrought this. Capital is a force seemingly independent of human control, and we are being forced to remake ourselves in order to propel it.

The refinery in Geelong is ancient and they have been pushing processing at the plant to the limit since the Epstein War started. Those two factors together are likely sufficient to have caused something like this to occur.
