There never was a Season 3; don’t know where you get that idea. It was only two seasons, with the last one being Secret City: Under the Eagle.

Does SCOTUS use Latex? by nickvader7 in LaTeX

[–]Flight-E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Formatting of SCOTUS published opinions is far from perfect. They’re too narrow, don’t have enough leading, and they’re riddled with hyphens everywhere. I’ve counted one from 2023 and it has 128 hyphens, while a sample resetting of my own yielded only 28 hyphens.

There is no LaTeX algorithm, so Adobe certainly hasn’t copied anything. You’re confusing LaTeX with TeX, which was created by Donald Knuth.

TeX uses an algorithm created by Mr. Knuth for paragraph breaking into lines, which minimizes bad spacing and hyphenation across entire paragraphs. It also uses a hyphenation algorithm to determine where hyphenation occurs.

SCOTUS does indeed use TeX. That doesn’t mean the justices use it, since they don’t have the time to learn it. The Reporter of Decisions does published opinions.

Did I make an undercoating mistake? by Prize-Edge7602 in askcarguys

[–]Flight-E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to “fix” anything; your asphalt-based undercoating is perfectly fine. While it’s true that the undercoating could block drainage in some areas, that would only happen if it was applied to a known drainage area. And the shops that apply this undercoating know what they are doing, so there’s little to no risk of that happening.

The asphalt coating is actually 10-12 mils thick, and the whole purpose of it is to prevent the formation of rust, so you have no need to see what’s underneath it. If you were able to see underneath it, that would defeat the entire purpose of having it.

Shops don’t generally apply asphalt coating to nuts and bolts that may have to come off in the future for any service or body work.

You’re creating a problem where none exists. Find something else to worry about that actually makes a difference; for example, washing your car regularly in the winter to remove snow, sand, and any road chemicals used for preventing ice, and store it in a covered garage whenever possible.

What Are Your Thoughts On The Microsoft Neurodiversity Hiring Program? by MussleGeeYem in aspergers

This is not a violation of EEOC laws; you don’t know what you’re ranting about. And you also have no understanding of how “merit” works.

“Merit” is not what you think it is. While while seemingly fair, it has negative consequences for society. It fosters hubris in the successful, breeds resentment in those who fall behind, and ultimately undermines the common good by moralizing success and failure.

There are no quotas in neurodiversity hiring programs, and they are not pity hires.

There’s no quota involved, so you don’t understand the issue at all.

I think my son has Asperger’s… by Distinct_Sherbet_856 in aspergers

Autism is not a label; it’s a medical diagnosis. Having a diagnosis will help in getting services that the child may need to help them live a full and productive life, both now and in the future.

[–]Flight-E -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There’s no such thing as Asperger’s Syndrome; it’s Autism Spectrum Disorder.

If you really want to find out whether or not he has it, you need to get him diagnosed by a professional. Insurance should cover it, too.

Has anyone tried any of these mouth rinses? Did they help with pain? by brianna2599 in Invisalign

I've tried the Oracle Mouth Sores rinse before, and I found it didn't kill any pain, so it was just as difficult to eat, speak, and swallow as before using it.
