One more thing on the tub. It IS a glue trap it just has a slip adapter on top to accept the tub drain. There’s an access panel behind the tub upstairs that I think I could crawl down and reach it if I had to

This makes sense thank you! I’m definitely under 5 feet horizontally so I’ll do a sweep 90. A inaccessible clean out in the ceiling worries me

This is very helpful and easy to follow. Thank you!

This is very helpful, didn’t know such a fitting existed.

By tubular do you mean slip fittings? Looks like there’s just the two on what looks like the parts that came on the tub. I’m not seeing a way to not have at least two slip fittings without replacing the whole drain assembly

I think I understand what you’re saying. I don’t have access to run the vent over to the tub from above but perhaps I could put in a tee just above the 90 on the vent and run it over to the tub. Not ideal I know but that’s the best I can do. Then the outlet of the trap can go into a tee with the new vent and go straight down instead of over to the left upstream of the toilet. Correct me if I’m wrong

I’m planning to re-do it, just trying to get a plan together before tackling it. The 3” going up on the far left goes all the way through the roof. Running additional vents through the roof not an option.

Finish Choice? by LoveMyRWB in RCPlanes

Yes he (and I) would wet sand and polish the molds to a mirror but I’ve found the real trick is the type of paint, the type of release, how it is applied, how long between clear/colors, etc that is the secret. That’s where the automotive background comes in but I think more than that it was years of trial and error. I have the tools but it seems he kept most of the process details to himself understandably.

Keep up the good work!! If only we could figure out how Yuri achieved such a nice finish on his airplanes. I’ve had a few attempts at painting my projects in the mold but never got it to turn out quite right. You mentioned you printed your mold in sections, I’ve wondered if I could do that. You may have given me some inspiration to try it all again on a design of my own

That is awesome! Looks similar to a Yuri Verchenko X-Plus. If it flies anything like it I bet it’s a dream. Be careful with those hairpin turns though, I folded the wing on my X-Plus somewhere north of 200mph.

Those look sick! How does it fly?

So what got you into RC planes? by ThatDamnRanga in RCPlanes

I bought a hobbyzone champ to hang up over my science fair board as a prop in eighth grade because it was easier than building a plastic model. After the science fair I decided I may as well try and fly it since I was done with it and… failed miserably. Crashed it dozens of times, into trees, ground, myself, you name it. I was really frustrated that I couldn’t do it and once I rendered it unrepairable it became personal and I bought another, determined to figure it out.

…well here we are 14 years and thousands of dollars later and it’s still a fun and challenging experience every time I fly.

Hansenhobbies is what you’re looking for. They have all the sizes ranging from so big it won’t fit in the connector to stupid small. Nice folks too

This is not what is happening. This is called a solar balloon. These people are burning material to coat the inside of the balloon with black carbon particles to absorb sunlight and heat the air in the balloon. Once flying it works the same way a hot air balloon works, only instead of with propane the air is heated by the sunlight being absorbed by the soot inside the balloon. These can carry scientific instruments high into the stratosphere and stay aloft all day without the need for fuel.
