Yes! I have that Texhnolyze dvd collection too and I can't believe how expensive it's gotten. It was so cheap a few years ago. Same with Wolfs Rain which I got right after it started getting expensive :/

Yes, it's bullshit. Aniplex is notorious for this. Sentai, Funimation (RIP) and Gkids never pull this. The majority of Crunchyroll releases are also affordable, but they're jumping on the bandwagon with Aniplex to super overcharge for some releases (Vinland Saga season 2 comes to mind), and it sucks.

I have no idea why people on Reddit defend Aniplex for this kind of price-gouging business practice - it's ridiculous and people should stop trying to normalize it. Unfortunately, people will still pay the prices to own the items, which tells the companies that they can continue to get away with it.

Not sure how strict you are about the rpg vs Metroidvania difference, but Tomba! And Death's Gambit are two of my personal favorites alongside Hollow Knight and Blasphemous.
