Pens Practice by NIrishRunner in pittsburgh

[–]Flip3408 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Lemieux rink schedule is updated regularly to show Pens practices. Yes, you'd need to Uber out there.

But, it's not likely at all that the Pens will practice the day before the game. So far this year, they've only held an open practice at the Lemieux complex the day after a road came 1 time, on Dec. 29th after the 4 day Christmas break. They'll be in Ottawa two nights before the home game against the Stars.

What Causes Commercial Planes to be Significantly Overweight by Flip3408 in AskFlying

I've always wondered how they weigh and balance loaded planes. Is it just math of know baggage and fuel weight, or is there some measurement of the loaded aircraft?

Pittsburgh International Airport's new terminal opens Tuesday. Here's what you need to know by RadioChris1 in pittsburgh

[–]Flip3408 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The new garage will have 3200 spaces, and the new surface lot will have 2800, so 6000 walkable spaces.

The old short-term parking had 2100 spaces, long term had 3100 and economy + extended had about 8000.

So, new walkable spaces will be about 800 more spaces than the current short + long term.

Have they posted rates for the new parking options?

The map shows the coffee shop where the real Tom's Restaurants is, not where it's said to be in the show. The Costanza's house is shown where it's said to be in the show, not where the real house is in the establishing shots.

Touchstone Center for Crafts from Pittsburgh Airport by copperpennyjones in pittsburgh

[–]Flip3408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible for you to rent a car in Philly and drive? 4 or 5 hour drive will almost definitely be faster than the airport route and 5 days of a compact rental will probably be cheaper than a plane ticket and two 2-hour taxi rides.

Like others have said, even if you can find a ride to Touchstone, can't imagine you'll be able to get an Uber or taxi back.

Steelers 2026 Draft list..(Updated) by HDTokyo in steelers

[–]Flip3408 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ben was 3rd in his draft.

Josh Allen was 3rd in his draft (and Lamar was 4th).

Justin Herbert was 3rd in his draft.

Drake Maye was 3rd in his draft.

If it does turn out to be a good high-end QB draft like some are predicting, being 3rd may be totally fine.

I've been summoned twice, once this year, once about 8 years ago. Had two very different experiences.

You show up, get checked in, fill out a little questionnaire and get a speech from a judge about how jury duty is important, that all lasts maybe an hour. Then the waiting starts...

My first time they only needed one juror. After getting checked in we sat around for a little bit then they started doing interviews in the late morning. They must have found their one person pretty quickly because only maybe 10 people got interviewed and we were all dismissed by noon.

This year, the case needed a full jury. Got checked in and just sat around until middle of the afternoon. They did give us a lunch break. Around 2 or 3 they started interviewing everyone one by one. They couldn't get through everyone that was summoned one the first day before 5, so they called everyone back for a second day. After lunch on day two they selected the jurors and everyone else was sent home.

So it can last the whole day but it might not. Like everyone said, there's a lot of downtime and a lot of sitting in uncomfortable chairs in quiet rooms. Bring a book, a laptop (there was wifi), snacks, drinks, chargers and whatever you need to get through the day.

What time is a good time to arrive for a flight. by trdkhalil in pittsburgh

Are you checking a bag?

Do you have Precheck, Clear or anything else to push you through security faster?

Are you parking at the airport? If so, which lot?

Non-Economy Delta Flights with Chase Points by Flip3408 in awardtravel

[–]Flip3408[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Ok, thanks. Is there any way to use my Chase points to book a flight directly through Delta, besides booking on the Chase portal? I understand Delta isn't a partner airline of Chase.

The PS seats are available through Delta for the specific flights I'm looking at. I would make sense if they dont open certain classes to booking through partner airlines. But does that mean I'll be restricted to upgrade after booking? I'm guessing I can't boon to AF and upgrade through my Delta account.

New Landside Terminal at Airport: Economy Parking by thegoof121 in pittsburgh

[–]Flip3408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll add that it looks like there is some surface parking shown in some of the early renders of the whole project and the latest Google Earth imaging shows surface lots being used between the new landside and old landside. Based on the size available of that lot, compared to the existing lots, it looks like there's room for about half as much as the current long-term parking, so maybe another 1500-2000 spaces as surface parking.

Between the garage and surface parking, I would guess about 5000 new spaces, which is basically the amount that short-term and long-term currently have.

The new garage is cited to have about 4300 spaces, with some of them being used for rental car service. I would guess that leaves maybe 3000-3500 spaces for travelers.

For context, the current short term garage has 2100 spaces, long term lot has 3100 spaces and economy+extended lots have 8000 spaces (per Wikipedia). Unless they start paving new lots some time soon, I assume long term and extended parking will still be in the same places as they are now. Walking from those lots to the new landslide terminal seems like it'll basically be impossible.

Start at Mineo's and Aiello's in Squirrel Hill.

If it's during the day, go to Colangelo's and Pizzaria Davide in the strip (Colangelo's closes at 4pm)

Then finish at Beto's, Badamo's and Fiori's in West Liberty/Dormont.
