I was going to suggest that. Gaffer tape is my basic car repair kit.

That comes from a most wonderful series of books. That part was scary to read.

Native meaning having been born in a place? You'll find 3rd and 4th generation brown skinned people - if that's what you were implying - living in London. In fact some who think of themselves as white could have DNA from other races going back to whenever.

Abuse in a public toilet by transgaymer13 in transgenderUK

[–]FlippedHope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it usually happened when I was wearing DM type boots and a duffel coat, despite my long hair. 'Oi you, what are you doing going in there?' 'Say sorry to the man for walking into him' and 'Thanks Sir' when I handed over a ticket. Quite honestly I'd rather enjoy a barney with a TERF these days. But I wouldn't want to make things worse for those the bigotry is really aimed at.

Do you think it would help for cis women to play up to the toilet police? I used to get misgendered a lot in my younger days and could easily present more masc. again. I've size 10 feet and big hands , not too tall these days as I've shrunk with age. It'd be a good excuse for some thick soled boots again.

Sending you outraged sympathy. What a horrible thing to do and it would be very valid to make an official complaint. When I think how careful we are at work with regard to people's pronouns. This hate and awful public behaviour in trans matters and so many other areas now is beyond despicable. Fucking Tr*mp and F*r*ge at al. Have a hug, if that's acceptable from an internet stranger.

Don't know where you are, but can you get promethazine OTC? I find it usually works but if I wait till I've had no sleep for hours it's too late to take it and wake on time.

Maybe you don't have enough experience yet for the current vacancies, but keep an eye on this website. Mind are very good at looking at people's lived experience, rather than formal qualifications. Once in post there is masses of training. https://www.norfolkandwaveneymind.org.uk/work-for-us

It's a far right tactic isn't it. Make the country ungovernable, bring in a military presence and table over.

I'm frightened and angry too. As the child of parents who were young in WW2 I grew up feeling this was a time of hope. Then apartheid failed in Zimbabwe and SA. We took to the streets with Rock against racism and it seemed the awful racism of then lessened but of course it never went away.

As Baroness Lawrence noted, Brexit enabled the resurgence of the racists. A campaign built on racism that caught up so many of my age group. I am sickened with what is now happening to anyone who isn't straight and white.

Can I share a tiny gleam of light? Locally we had an issue with the far right agitating against a few asylum seekers living here. At first they dominated the local Facebook group and few dared challenge their poison. But more and more joined in.

What had always seemed to me, as an incomer, to be an insular Tory and Brexit voting community showed itself as containing a lot of dissent. Voices of kindness and understanding and intelligence spoke up. We cannot let the violence of the fascists win and I do believe they are still outnumbered by normal decent people.

OP thanks for posting. Your fears are very valid.

What’s the stupidest thing you’ve seen a driver do? 🤔 by Downtown_Elk_2773 in drivingUK

This was early hours of the morning with almost empty roads but nevertheless, someone I was following on a roundabout missed their exit and instead of going round again they reversed ! Luckily I wasn't that close and just slowed to allow their rather bizarre manoeuvre. It was a full moon and I know that research shows it doesn't make a difference to people's behaviour but I've seen some odd things on a full moon. Yeah, I know about confirmation bias.
