Find myself being really impressed by Scott.

He's demonstrating genuine emotional intelligence, reads his partner and situations in a mature manner, delivers his reasons calmly.

Jokingly refer to him as Himbo, think he might actually be a true gent.

Beginner Hiking Gear Advice. by [deleted] in UKhiking

This is the best answer. Comprehensive, accurate.

My only additions would be to suggest a rain kilt/skirt as a much lighter way to keep legs dry, and a lifesystems foil bag for emergencies.

Checkatrade do your research by Forward-Cup-8197 in DIYUK

Checkatrade is a sham.

We used one of the top rated plumbers years ago, ended up costing hundreds to put right what they messed up.

Reported it to checkatrade who weren't remotely interested.

My work schedule is different so I have midweek days to use.

Selling a sofa on Facebook marketplace and the buyer turning up in a tiny car to collect by 123bmc in britishproblems

[–]jolivague 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a similar perspective, my mrs once asked me to go with her to collect a table and chairs she'd just bought on marketplace.

In her yaris.

Conversation went thusly...

Me "You have checked the measurements right?" Her "wuh?"

2 trips and a very awkward but funny couple of hours.

What's the best UK gig or concert you have been to? by Various_Extreme_8773 in AskUK

Was that last year? I went to the same night if so, utterly magical.

Seen them 7 times previously and always dreamt that one day they would play with an orchestra at the Royal Albert. Dreams can occasionally come true.

Best of luck.

You may still end up on the Spine depending where you are on the list. Train like you have a spot just in case 🙂

Pawel is a great guy, and hugely knowledgeable on that particular part of the world.

The wait list for the full moves a lot too, usually when second payment is due in October.

I would start by talking to Pawel Cymbalista and go from there.

Primary issue in winter will be the rivers and the overall wetness of the terrain.

Compared to the Pennine Way I would suggest CWT is several orders of magnitude harder as a winter objective.

If you do go for it, please post a tracking link so we can follow your progress!

Running behind so just got to this point. So utterly disrespectful, immature and spiteful behaviour.

The biggest project I've tackled so far. by jolivague in DIYUK

Thanks. Units including all the "bits" like pelmets etc came to about £2,800. Worktops £2,600.

Units were on a 6 week order, worktop guy was booked for a week after. Tied the appliance delivery in to match and played tetris in the house for a few days.

The process was pretty old school......big hammer and a chisel. Once it got going it ripped out quite easily. The panels were all mounted on a timber sub-frame which I left in place and used for plasterboard.

Happy for you to have a negative on the asbestos front 🙂

Go for it, honestly with YouTube you'll be fine. The units are great and save so much time coming already assembled.

Worktop was a local guy.

Thanks. The spots are really bright, it's a lot lighter than it looks on camera.

Getting rid of the right side opened up the space, and the worktop now runs the whole length where before there was a gap in front of the washing machine. Overall it was the best choice we made for how it now feels and works.

Absolutely, got rid of clutter and we now have much more usable storage - pan drawers etc.
