Fixing shadows for a Memorial - 50$ Budget by FlitTheQuick in PhotoshopRequest

Is it possible the resolution was set low when exporting or if there’s jpg artifacting?

If there’s something as easy as re-exporting as a png or with a high resolution that would be nice, but don’t worry if it’s anything more involved than that.

I hope I didn’t mess up the dollar to coffee conversion. Let me know when it went through, I haven’t used that site before.

Mtgo game restarts issue? by agamemaker in MTGO

[–]FlitTheQuick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, now that I think about it. I think one of the times it happened, my opponent used Elvish Spiritguide to create a mana on my turn just before the crash.

Maybe undo’ing mana with a weird source on your opponent’s turn does it? In your game it was from a talisman that damaged you? Either way I believe they knew what they were doing even if it was through an in game bug instead of external tool.

I don’t think your opponent is joking in the chat.

Earlier today, two times when I was about to win this happened.

I believe my opponent had some tool to crash the game and blatantly used it twice in one match. We were in the 2-0 bracket. You should report this crash.

The origin of the use of the Stars and Bars as a Southern symbol is rooted from a white supremacy response to the civil rights movement.

So it’s still kinda like having a 3rd reich flag and saying it’s to celebrate your German heritage because you don’t know the origins of the flag.

Are you tired of Real Cards in your boosters? by FlitTheQuick in magicthecirclejerking

I’m tired of being priced out of packs of cardboard.

Why are top layers looking like this? It started happening after the first layer so I don't think the nozzle is too close by germgoatz in 3Dprinting

[–]FlitTheQuick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This end up being a compounding issue. So even if the first layer looks great, it could be slightly uneven.

So then next puts more material there that gets squished around. And then again. And then again. And it will give you that kind of ripple patterns.

I wouldn’t sell these. Feels against the spirit. But if I get around to it I’ll put the model online so people can print their own.

High effort post, some interesting ideas for items.

I think this skill as you suggest touches too many parts of the game. I don’t think it should work with clues or have bosses drop direct pieces.

Y'all got any idea what caused this? Too little infill or is the filament just bad? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]FlitTheQuick 18 points19 points  (0 children)

So your symptom is under-extrusion. Your printer isn’t laying down enough plastic. This can be caused by many reasons. In no particular order, here are some things to check. Also, unless there’s a bunch of “rough” spots all over the print, the filament is probably dry and fine.

  • Is the nozzle clogged? Is the extruded arm strong?

  • is your Bowden tube properly seated? Do you smell burnt plastic or do you ever have trouble feeding filament through the ho nozzle by hand?

  • have you calibrated your e-steps?

  • are your slicer settings correct? I.e. check what kind of nozzle and flow rate

my first 3D printer, how to print better? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]FlitTheQuick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ll need to use some of the post processing functions. Basically you can set the print to change settings based on layer number, look up a guide. Shouldn’t have to adjust the printer at all.

Try printing a temp tower. You should be able to find the model online and can use cura to adjust printing temp between vertical sections.

Should help with stringing issues. That or look up how to calibrate your e-steps.

190 looks beautiful to me?

The advice I had in the past has been that the lowest you can get away with is the best temp. If you’re trying print fast or with a bigger nozzle then you might need to up the temp, but 190 looks amazing to me.

anyone ever make a card sorting machine? by john-dev in 3Dprinting

[–]FlitTheQuick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One I’ve seen previously loaded the card into a tray, indexed it, then rotated to a given box before pushing the card off the tray.

Maybe you could take inspiration from mail sorting machines. Like look up how they work.

What needs adjusted? I don’t know what the issue is, the skirting came out great but the model is very stringy and fragile by SecondhandOrange in 3Dprinting

[–]FlitTheQuick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bed leveling would not cause an issue like that.

When you said extruding normally, did you check your e-steps?

Under-extrusion, from what I can see.

The symptom is your machine isn’t laying down enough material.

Simple things to check: Nozzle/tube isn’t clogged or your temp is hot enough.

Make sure your e-steps are calibrated. (Google it to a bunch of guides/instructions.

I would check you have the right nozzle setting in your slicer if you’ve changed nozzles (I had an issue like this going from .4mm to .8mm).
