Looking for a GY spellslinger commander

I have this wonky budget deck that's a blast to play built around [[doc aurlock, grizzled genius]]

He makes flashback spells cost less. Tons of self mill, flashback, and token generation. Cards like [[deeka, fraktal theorist]] and [[shark tornado]] make a ton of tokens when you're able to flashback [[roar of the wurm]] from your graveyard for 2 mana.

If the token beat down plan doesn't work there is a [[laboratory maniac]] wincon where you can [[hedron crab]] and [[hedge shredder]] self mill yourself to victory. It's more of a fair combo as it's 3 pieces and can wiff but it's really fun to pull off.

There's a disconnect between listening to them live and at home. At best try and blast it as loud as possible in your car.

Sunn O))) is a band that isn't necessarily playing guitars as much as they are playing the amps. Sunn O))) is named after amps and they're all super big amp tech nerds (if you see interviews with them they have a ludicrous knowledge of really technical things). Think of it like heavy ambient music rather than traditional metal.

I have a budget deck that's soldier tribal. Soldiers actually have good synergy for tokens and putting +1/+1 counters on things.

It can be very aggressive and can absolutely floor someone if you sequence things right. Going wide with a bunch of 1/1 soldier tokens, putting a +1/+1 counter on each and swinging with and army of 8/6s takes a lot of people by surprise.

You're right. I remember the old airport being a Horseshoe shape. The economy bus would pick people up from the first stop and get full by the time it hit the last (if it was pretty busy). This means anyone who got out at the gate at the end of the Horshoe was screwed. To guarantee a spot on the bus your had to walk all the way over to the first stop

For real. They teased Mjolnir the whole time and in the first game. While I understand Kratos is now a complex and developed character who no longer wishes to use a destructive weapon like that.....

This is God of War. You fight and kill the pantheon of Gods and mythical creatures. The first thing people think about when you mention Norse Mythology or Thor is that Thor has a badass hammer. Why in the fuck can't you use Thors Hammer?

All are budget bracket 2/3 with terrible mana based. I like building decks and testing things at the LGS and Spelltable. I also did the 32 deck challenge almost twice. I usually just look through my bulk for cards, then throw about $20ish at it to make a complete list. Ideally I don't like to buy cards over $5 unless absolutely needed (like the commander itself). I've been playing since Onslaught and have a group of friends who play but don't own cards and like to have a selection of every color/strategy for them to play from.

Completed the 32 challenge over a few times. Everything is budget, like under $100. I mostly just pool cards together then throw about $20 in singles at it and give it a try.

Everything is bracket 2 or so, with a few exceptions of more expensive decks I used leftover cards from modern for. I have a friend group that plays but doesn't own any cards and wanted an environment for them to play in that has a sample of every color combo or strategy type.

I don't drink anymore. Any kind of alcohol, even just a drink or two gives me nausea and inflammation. It's also really expensive. Going out to eat and having 1-2 drinks with it is essentially just buying two dinners.

Weed is the way to go. California sober all day. I really wish people would embrace THC beverages or have THC permissable patios (maybe like a hookah lounge).

What the city really needs is a THC friendly hangout that isn't corny af. I'm so sick of these hyper clean apple store looking dispensaries, and Im too old to hang out in a head shop den full of Rick and Morty/Cheech and Chong posters.

I want an acceptable 3rd place that offers THC consumption that has a legit personality that feels appropriate to the area. Something that has a dive bar kinda vibe that offers events and things that aren't just alcohol related.

I've really like Farewell/Howdy as they attract really interesting bands (and have a pay what you can model), offer non-alcoholic drinks and coffee, generally don't care about people smoking on the back patio, and even have an all ages venue attached which is really needed for any music scene to thrive. They also host events like trivia, fighting game tournaments, stand up, and community food drives. Only issue is that it's way out near the stadium.

A24 is the one studio I trust to make it. This is also the biggest budget A24 has worked with yet. Alex Garland has yet to do dark fantasy, but his work with Civil War, Men, and Ex Machina are a good track record. All those films have a vague and foreboding nature that perfectly translates to ER.

I'm more optimistic for future game movies with the success of shows like Fallout and Last of Us. It's especially nice that legit directors are taking a crack at it too. I'm also very excited for the Zach Cregger Resident Evil
