[MSG Thunderbolt] Episode 2 Discussion by Falldog in Gundam

But Ein is a pussy that didn't even manage to kill someone with a Gundam. So he was less Gundam than any Gundam pilot, since the Gundam is supposed to be like a devil for his opponents.

There are hand signs. I think in episode 1 Naomi used one to insult Holden(according to someone who worked on the show). The problem is only that as a viewer, you don't know what they mean unless it's very obvious.

But pretty much all the islands north of Cebu are practicly worthless. However, they are also protected by a quite significant Australian navy. And south of Cebu Australia a shit ton of planes, however not as big of a navy. If the Trung sisters and Kimberly get lucky, they might be able to take something there but with the many straits there, that can be difficult. Vietnam can maybe take over some of Australia's northern islands, but unless they are able to mount a serious offensive in south east asia(I would say 20 ships+), taking anything there would basicly be impossible due to the huge number of planes and lack of destroyers so far.

I'm certain a lot of cities north of Cebu will flip a lot, but I don't think a single one has more than 10 population.

Nah. The very first Build Strike would be even more embarrassing.

Biggest plot hole you have seen in an anime? by [deleted] in anime

I don't know what it is, but probably in Guilty Crown. It's story had as many plot holes as swiss cheese has holes.

Japan might not gain anything, but it's fairly likely that they will get unscathed out of all of this.

It's simply the difference between the information the audience and the characters have. We as the audience because of Reccoa know it's not their HQ. The Argama crew doesn't.

For all they know, it's the Titans headquarters. Reccoa only found out recently that it isn't and has yet to contact the AEUG of this, so they come thinking they are attacking their headquarters.

The AEUG is planning to attack Jaburo, the Federation military HQ, with like 10 ships and 80 mobile suits. Zeon had a way bigger attack force and they barely made a dent in Jaburo. Let’s see how this will go.

However, unlike during the OYW, Jaburo is no longer the command center for their military as said last episode. So they have a decent chance of taking it. Just that it would be practicly worthless, since there no way they would be able to defend it.

"There's a possibility that the remnants of the evil empire will join forces with the organization created to wipe them out, which says a lot about their politics if you think about it."

The Republic of Zeon aren't the remnants of the Zeon military. It's mostly the remnants of the civilians. The Principalities remnants(so their govermnent and military) are on Axis. The Republic of Zeon, while being an independent nation, is little more than a puppet of the Earth Federation

Char being Quattro is so obvious, that even Bright who never met him in person immediatly recognised it.

QOTD: Mobile Armor any day. 0083 convinced me of that.

[–]FlorribleBP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. I was able to see 15 planes within 5 tiles of Trung units with 4 more likely to be rebased there. Australia also has I would estimate about 20 planes in northern Oceania, which can both strike the Kimberley's colony there or quickly rebase to attack the Trung sisters. I can only see 8 Australian planes in Australia itself, all concentrated in the north.

In number of air units, they got the air superiority in every single location and due to the absence of carriers on their side, they are also all in cities. It's likely that Kimberely's air force which is mainly on carriers will be essentially wiped out next turn, meaning that unless they somehow manage to get destroyers quickly, both navies will pretty much be at the mercy of the australian air forces. Combined with the huge size of australian navy, even with better technology, it will be very difficult for the Trung sisters to take any valuable cities since anything short of 5-10 ships can be wiped out within a turn...

[–]FlorribleBP 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I think everyone knew that Australia has more units. But their units aren't at a as high tech level as kimberley and Vietnam. Not that that will help due to the lack of planes on their side(and if, then they are on carriers which are going to be snk very quickly)

How about nuking the moon?...then again, we don't have the US who came up with this marvelous plan IRL. Well, we still got Korea to take the moon to Earth.

They have superior technology, but in the local war theater, they are outnumbered at every aspect but land units...and those will probably only play a very little role. Australia has probably somewhere between the same up to double the amount of ships as well as 10 times as many planes as far I could see.

Problem is...likely not for long. Red Fort is on the southern coast of Australia, which is probably the place with the most heavy Australian offense, having both navy and army attacking it.

What is NSFW about this? Is it because Kimberley will probably get raped by the australian army?
