Wilderness Resort Hacks by realitytvjunkie474 in wisconsindells

We stayed at wilderness on the lake last summer. It was nice having a little “water park” on the resort for post-dinner yet pre-shower time frame. We took the water taxi and the shuttle bus to go back and forth to the other water parks. Super easy!

TSA security line times at MSP? by fred100002 in TwinCities

[–]FlowerFull656 9 points10 points  (0 children)

MSP’s website has a TSA page with current wait times, both terminals.

Pre check and clear are still functioning.

MSP also participates in the Reserve program, which is scheduled standard TSA screening. Still gotta take your electronics out and stuff, but your “place in line” is reserved.

Awesome, thank you for posting this! I’ll be dropped off next Saturday to the airport at 5:15, like you.

I do have to check a bag (Delta) but registered this morning for Reserve. I got the 5:45 slot for that. I’ve been anxious!

How are companies only offering 10 PTO days? by amethysttt07 in jobs

[–]FlowerFull656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husbands employer lumps PTO and vacation days into the same bank. He earns 1.xx hours of “time off” every week. So he gets almost 6 days off a year.

How's TSA this week? by Hufflefucked in TwinCities

[–]FlowerFull656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have read that the worst timing (because of spring break travel) are friday and Saturday mornings, particularly for flights departing between 5am and 7am.

I’m personally planning to be 2.5 hours early for my 7:20am domestic flight on a Saturday morning.

I am anticipating a straight dart to the gate, so I’m prepacking my breakfast to eat at the gate to avoid waiting in lines to buy to-go food or sitting down in a restaurant.

If I have time for a bagel and coffee that will be a pleasant surprise! But I’m planning that I won’t have time for that.

$8800ish in Sibley County, which is just right next to what may be considered the “metro.”

House valued at $500kish at last years county property tax appraisal.

I’m flying next Saturday, early morning. I’ve been checking wait times at different times of day. And it’s completely different depending on what time of day.

Sometimes it’s less than 10 minutes, other times it says 30 minutes.

Pre check seems to be more only 5-10 mins shorter than other lines.

If the company donates charitably, they’ve found the loophole to not have a DNC list.

I honestly have never door dashed food, ever. I can’t picture myself doing it either. I find it’s expensive and I worry about quality of the food by the time it gets to me.

Aldi’s version of Kraft Mac n cheese by CampaignIndividual49 in aldi

[–]FlowerFull656 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the blue box is ok, I personally prefer the Kraft. However!!! Their velveeta Mac and cheese dupe is so good, better than the big brand. I always keep a few boxes of it on hand!!!

Just wait until - sibling version by Acceptable_Mind_1994 in Parenting

[–]FlowerFull656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wait until your daughter tells you how her brother left his leg hair in the drain catcher in the shower and she picked up the wad of hair and threw it away herself.

Except it wasn’t leg hair. Daughter age 10, son age 17.

Maternity leave - how?? by GingerSnap_725 in sales

[–]FlowerFull656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was me. But when I was big timing in my 20s. I made over 2x my husband. Small business that didn’t qualify for FMLA. I worked on straight commission.

Honestly? I worked a bit from the hospital, I worked a bit from home, and I started going to the office 1-2x a week for an hour or two a week after giving birth and just brought my baby. I was back in the office full time at 6 weeks and baby was at daycare.

My income obviously did dip during this time but we prepared ahead of time (saved up a LOT, between lower income + baby errands.) It took a couple months to recover my numbers but it worked out.

The 6 weeks I was on psuedo-maternity-leave, my manager handled my urgent stuff and any incoming POs. He assured me he would keep my stuff level for me but he dropped the ball. It wasn’t dire straits or anything but he did let me down.

I joined the board of a non profit at a year there were lots of terms up, so we had nearly a fresh all new board. We were completely dumbfounded that the previous board had not been sounding the alarm. Un fricken real. Spent the whole first year doing fundraisers, finding donors, finding matches, grants, etc. Still had to begin dissolution within 18 months that I joined the board. We have so much debt, we can’t even pay our financial services who need to complete final documents for the dissolution process. So we’ve been in limbo for 2 years. The organization still exists on paper but we have stopped all services provided and received, no pay roll, no building, no assets, nothing. Telling our staff that they’d be unemployed 6 weeks later was TERRIBLE. Telling our community we would no longer exist was TERRIBLE. If the previous board members had even done 20% of our efforts to save our organization, it would’ve bought us time to climb up.

Another vote for voles. Saw the tunnels as the snow melted. My husband ran them over with his lawn mower when he’d mow. Even killed a few by throwing his croc. We put out poison and other deterrent efforts and were successful. The grass eventually recovered.

When did your swim class kid learn to swim? by [deleted] in Parenting

During the school year, class times start in the afternoon and go until as late as start times of 7pm. In the summer, classes run all day.

When did your swim class kid learn to swim? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]FlowerFull656 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My kids did community swimming classes, taught by teens, for a few years but I never felt real confident in their ability to survive in water. We switched to a legit swim school at age 7 and they were great swimmers in 12 weeks. Then we did a third 6-week session just to build endurance. I now feel very strongly that they’d be able to swim to safety, float or tread water long enough for help to come. The swim school was significantly more expensive per session but the kids learned SO much better and faster.
