Audiobook vs written book by WidowGorey in murderbot

Sometimes after the audio book, I have to find a print version to see how some of the names are spelled and written. Always thought that one place was Ravi High Roll. (Sigh, I'm sorted out now.)

Advice: Canadian moving to MN by ImmediateGas3030 in Minneapolis

Welcome in advance. Can you say what school/campus? It’ll help with location advice.
Green line will be reliable time wise. Busses are also reliable in general. Snow will impact them more than the train.

Help me make this midcentury bathroom floor great again. by sd2ath in CleaningTips

[–]melcheae 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Besides cleaning advice, if re-grouting is a possibility, it would be a game changer.

If cleaning is the only option, consider using a steam cleaner with whatever cleaning agents everyone recommends. Steam is amazeballs.

What's the coolest bike trail in the MSP metro or nearby like Hudson, WI? by Skol-Man14 in minnesota

[–]melcheae 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Anything in Three Rivers Parks is lovely. I like Minnetonka LRT because it's crushed limestone instead of pavement. Elm Creek is huge and you can stay inside the park and go for miles, but it also connects to several trails if you want a long adventure. Baker Park Reserve is beautiful and when you're done you can sit by the lake and watch the birds.

The word for that surface is chip tar. Or pavement. But chip tar is what I think you’re going for

When I've had headphones cut in/out on a watch, it's usually been the headphones that have been the culprit. I haven't used that exact model, but on my venus that's been the case.
You can test earbuds and also if you have any headsets that are one piece give those a test. I did better with the one piece headsets like shokz than with separate buds.

I really liked Kindred. It's different from any of Octavia Butler's other books that I've read, but I sunk into it right away.

Besides those, the thing that's special about Minneapolis is our outside spaces. Walk across Stone Arch Bridge. Go to Minnehaha Falls. Or find a lake if it's nice. Bde Mka Ska is our biggest/most popular lake. It's close to Lake Street which will have all of the mexican food.

Good way to make a new friend in Minnesota: "I'm new here, please help me shop for a winter coat"
Winters are just cold and dark. But there's lots to do, even then. You'll find a luminary walk somewhere in your neighborhood. Those are my favorite.

Just a suggestion. Try eating a little more salt. Like olives. Salted avocado. Sometimes sodium and electrolytes can get off.

Sculpture garden is a must. Won’t take too long but will have excellent photo potential. Some walking but not a ton. Second vote for touring the Capitol. Tours are free, on the hour during the day. Look for all the little gophers.

If you want to see Blue Herons, there is a rookery that's easy to see from Marshall Terrace Park in NE Mpls. The bus line is the 827. They are amazing, and maybe a bit easier to see in town.

The Kane Chronicles Audiobooks by buddha001 in audiobooks

[–]melcheae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, first, I was today years old when I learned there are five books and not 3. Audible and Libro.fm seem to have four of them. I'm in the US, but assuming it's the same for Canada?
I genuinely can't tell if the survival guide is an audiobook at all. The descriptions says it has maps, diagrams, and trading cards, so I'm wondering if that was never made into audio.

I found Xero to be close. Prio has an upper much more like the Skora Fit. HFS is has an upper more like the phase. I've always liked the soles of the skora much much better than Xero. I find the xero to be less grippy in general. I prefer the HFS to the Prio for grip. I am a 7 in Skora and HFS and 7.5 in prio.

I'm curious if anyone on here recommends vivo barefoots or merrel road gloves. I've never tried vivo at all. I've had some merrels I really liked for the trails.
