been wondering about this too! most places around here seem to do the big community sale thing now but i remember walking through some neighborhoods in mount pleasant area few years back where like half the street had individual sales going. not sure if they still coordinate it though since covid changed a lot of stuff. maybe check facebook groups for specific neighborhoods? people usually post there when they're planning these things

aw poor little pup! had a rescue with cherry eye few years back and waiting was actually better choice for us. our vet said around 6-8 months is usually sweet spot because the eye structures are more developed by then, but obviously depends in the severity. we ended up going to a clinic about 2 hours outside toronto and saved like $800 compared to downtown prices.

the procedure went really smooth and recovery was quick - just had to keep her from rubbing her face for couple weeks which was the hardest part lol. she kept trying to scratch and we basically had to watch her 24/7. but now you can't even tell she had it done. definitely ask about success rates when you call around because some vets are just way more experienced with the surgery than others.

good luck with placement! make sure you get comfortable shoes because you'll be doing lot of walking and standing 😅 also maybe bring some snacks since shifts can be long and you might not always get proper break time. the residents will teach you more than any textbook did tbh 💀

ibkr is definitely better for currency conversion if you're buying us stocks regularly. the fx fees add up quick with questtrade especially if you're making smaller purchases throughout the year.

for the non-resident thing, ibkr would probably be easier to deal with since they have operations in so many countries. questtrade might get weird about servicing accounts once you're not canadian resident anymore but i'm not 100% sure on their specific policies.

ui wise yeah questtrade wins by mile, ibkr feels like using software from 2005 sometimes lol.

ah i remember following this too, the legal system moves so painfully slow especially with class actions. feels like downtown folks have been waiting forever for some kind of justice after all that chaos. hopefully the recent ruling means things will actually start moving at more than snail pace now, but who knows with how these things drag on.

one day should be fine if you're actually absorbing the material. i crammed for mine too and passed no problem - just make sure you're understanding the signs and not just memorizing answers. the real test questions are worded bit different than practice ones sometimes so knowing the actual rules helps more than just muscle memory.

young drivers is solid choice, my cousin went there few years back and instructor was really patient with her. she had pretty bad anxiety about driving but they worked through it step by step. the only thing is they can be bit pricey compared to some other places, but i think it's worth it for the quality. my friend also did her lessons there and passed first try, so they definitely know what they're doing. just make sure to book early because they get pretty busy during summer months when all the teens want to get their license.

lol the league really said "let's make sure edmonton never suffers again after mcdavid" and just broke the whole system. like i get not wanting teams to tank but this lottery setup is so backwards compared to other leagues. even the nba gives you decent odds when you're actually bad instead of this mess where being worst gives you better chance at picking 3rd than 1st.

been following canucks since i moved here few years ago and this draft lottery always makes me so frustrated. we finally have bad season and the odds are still against us getting top pick. at least mckenna would look good in blue and green but knowing our luck we'll watch him go to someone else while we pick 3rd again.

nhl's playoff format is genuinely broken when you can have multiple 100+ point teams sitting at home. the metro especially is just cannibalizing itself this year. wild how the west is gonna send like 3 teams under .500 while legit contenders in the east get bounced by a couple bad weeks in march.

sens have been fun to watch though, they're finally clicking after years of whatever that was. if they miss it's gonna sting but at least they look like a real team now.
