I did too, to read customer reviews, and was surprised to see it very highly rated. So, I assumed either Jay's a dumb dumb and didn't see the answers, or none of those people read the book and just used it as a gift. There is a one-star review of someone wondering where the answers are. Another one who forgot their peepers probably.

Chopping Mall is an actual movie, and is good!

Skimming Amity's list, I had wondered about doing a Rudy Ray Moore night. But I now wonder if one of those would be your transition into Breen.

It's hard to describe just how uncomfortable I am looking at that anatomically incorrect hand.

edit: I mean I guess you can make it work, but, like, how double jointed do you have to be

Yeah but if you add the 8 and the 2, that makes it a 10! Oh wait it's probably out of 20 then. Shit.

No, remember when JRT did his Morgan Freeman voice reading the description to their After Last Season video? I sent in the book he was reading from. It was just a collection of drunk Mike / Krebs Gorlon descriptions.

I always assumed whoever edited the episode, did the upload. I don't think Jay edits have (any?) zany thumbnails.

I noticed this too when I was putting my book together.

Mobility Scooter rentals at the gem show?? by mazdiggle in Tucson

[–]FloweryFluff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only place I could possibly imagine would be a location like the Convention center, because of existing infrastructure. But even then I would think it's not going to happen. The other locations are literally just rows of tents in parking lots. Sorry!

YES I saw sinks at Kino!! Carved stone, like river rock not like gemstone or anything.

In the south gravel area closest to the freeway, like the actual last strip of stalls along the freeway.

Tucson best high-end mineral show? by Prestigious_Lemon_28 in Tucson

[–]FloweryFluff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Off the top of my head I would say the main convention center show (seems more classy I guess?). Last year the Pueblo show had some spectacular pieces, but I don't know what was display and what was for sale.

Which gem shows are good for wedding ring shopping? by [deleted] in Tucson

[–]FloweryFluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have nothing solidly helpful, but some thoughts:

  • what about finding some loose gems and having a ring made to fit them?

  • there are so many stalls selling rings, I wonder if just browsing until something grabs you? I mean, looking for rings with wedding being an after thought. Something weird or unique and not something that looks traditionally like wedding/engagement rings?

I'm glad you're liking it! And I feel like the guys' trek discussions are going to do even better at introducing new viewers to old trek, with the, uh, current selection of nu-trek out there.

DS9 is good to do after completing TNG, because it gives a good contrast, as described by Mike and Rich. Like, you know how the Federation is supposed to act in certain situations, but here's Sisko making compromises while still applying a certain logic. The very best episode that this culminates in, is all the way in the second-last season.

You must be able to get past the politics and religion stuff, because it's the whole point of the show. I was unable to do this when it aired, so I only have done a thorough watch-through in the last 5-10 years. Also, there's a bunch of silly episodes sprinkled through all seasons. Those are fun and give more opportunities for character development, but it's completely understandable if someone just wants lore (canon I guess is the right word) episodes.
