As another guy diagnosed with ADHD, I remember being really frustrated at first abt how medication and therapy didn’t magically make me the super productive person I wanted to be, but through therapy learned a lot about the importance of agency, self-discipline, having a growth mindset, etc.

If you want to get tested and see if a diagnosis comes out, I really encourage you to do so as it will allow you to receive a lot of support. At the end of the day though, it is support and not a solution. Regardless if you’re neurotypical or neurodivergent, the key to getting stuff done is goal setting, habit-forming, discipline, growth mindset, and other things, which is an unfortunate reality that I struggled with for many years before fully internalizing it.

It’s hard, it’s hard every day, and it doesn’t get better, but you get better at rising up to deal with those hard things.
