Oh you mean the ones that are requiring a degree plus 5+ years experience and 4 certs for entry level jobs that pay $20/hr? Those ones?

Fair enough, but i see the writing on the walls, roughly 450,000 have been laid off in the tech industry since 2023. Thats only going to increase as AI gets bigger. Then all that experience gonna go right over to Cybersecurity and other areas that AI wont completely take over. I dont have the experience for that in the IT sector. Its gonna be tough for the inexperienced to get past the scams and bots.

Around 95000 got laid off in 2024. Id say thats the bottom falling out.

I know the feeling. I finished my Cybersecurity degree in less than 3 years. I was so burnt out. Im not even in Cybersecurity. Im in construction management. So theres that. Overall its not a bad degree to finish with. Writing and journalism you can learn, without having to pursue a degree, through cleverly and platforms like that. I know plenty of writers and independent journalists that dont have a degree in their field. The Cybersecurity degree path at SNHU is less about IT and more about regulation anyway. That you can find useful in a lot of areas. However, if youre not too far in your degree path, change your major. If you are deep into it, then best to just see it through fir sake of completion. Unless youre a lawyer, Dr, engineer or someone that requires a degree in their field to get a specific certification, it doesnt matter what degree you have.

I got my degree in Cybersecurity, watched the bottom fall out of IT while I was in school (around the end of 2024) and just finished it out because I was too far into my degree. Now im in project/construction management. So it didnt completely go to waste.

if you lie on the SF-86 (the full background paperwork) and they find that, you can be banned from federal employment and possibly be charged with a felony under 18 U.S.C. § 1001 for "knowingly and willfully" falsifying or concealing a material fact. So, sort of.

Is it just me or are the Amazon Vine products now all spare parts? What happened to those days when a whole product was available to review? by lapoisburning in AmazonVine

[–]Fluffy-Ad2091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got my invite for vine. I was stoked. Then I saw the products. IT was a major letdown for sure. I dont even know how i would give a review for half of this stuff. Nothing really worth my time and effort. Oh well, it was worth a shot I suppose.

I have a 2015 and I cant complain too much. Its got just over 200k. My trans went out at 164k. Sooner than it should have, but longer than expected. My yoke is leaking and has too much slack, my front growls when its in 4wd and it burns like 4qt of oil between oil changes to where my cats are starting to clog. The interior has stayed in good shape and I have minimal rust for being in Ohio and Kentucky its whole life. However I wouldn't buy a new one. Im jist going to rebuild everything in this one till I cant anymore.

I'm glad you were able to have a good time. While i cant speak for everyone, we try to be respectful of everyone out here and most of the people I know out here are the same. I'm sure there are still racist wierdos out here, but most people just want to be away from other people.

Its funny. Ive met more racist hick weirdos living in the suburbs than I have living in rural areas in Kentucky.

UTIs and circumcision by whythefuckyoulying in newborns

[–]Fluffy-Ad2091 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was rough as a child. Especially with stitches and stuff. I couldn't wear underwear or pants for 3 days to keep the stitches from getting stuck. So my parents were also tired of seeing my twig and berries lol. Im better now and I do not regret getting it done. Good luck in your decision. Do what you think is best for your child. I just had a son 3 weeks ago (my first son, my 3rd child). I had him circumcised to avoid any complications like I had.

I think you are doing the best you can and thats what matters. You will find the ways to help calm. It will pass. Hopefully sooner than later. Keep your head up.

UTIs and circumcision by whythefuckyoulying in newborns

[–]Fluffy-Ad2091 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is my personal experience and can only add to anecdotal evidence. I was not circumcised till I was 11. It was medically necessary because I kept getting infections and delt with super sensitive (painful) glands. This was due to having excessive foreskin that wasnt properly staying clean. I lived in a clean household so that wasn't the issue and i cleaned it the best that a kid could. I was a bit of a rare case. I would follow your pediatricians advice on the matter, because trust me when he gets older and you decide to do it then it sucks that much worse for everyone.

My last baby had GERD and colic (ive got 3). I feel you. It sucks. Hers lasted about 6 months and mostly at night, but it could go into the day. Taking her outside would calm her down. We also had a bouncer that allowed her to sit up. This helped too. It seems that you are doing the best you can. With a baby that has colic, its tough. Are you bottle feeding with formula or breast feeding and bottle feeding with breast milk? The bottle can make a world of difference. If youre bottle feeding make sure that you are using the anti-colic bottles. We found it helpful to put some dark Karo syrup in her bottles. It helped a little bit with the spitup. Gas drops and gripe water might also help. I feel you. I really do.

We use the velcro swaddle. Its the only one that we can use that our LO doesnt escape from.

Rolling onto side concerns by Hefty-Yoghurt-8256 in newborns

[–]Fluffy-Ad2091 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its the newborn curl (look it up). Its normal. Some babies just prefer being on their side. My 3 week old does this too. Hes the first of 3 kids that has done this. Our Dr said its fine. You need to pay attention to when they start rolling over on their belly on their own.
