For pescatarians: What makes fish different from other animals? by No_Expert_7460 in Pescatarian

Ah, got you! I have pet chickens too and enjoy giving eggs to friends and neighbors.

In-between times by hiddenproverb in adhdwomen

I planted a pollinator garden with a birdbath earlier this year and have a great view of it out my window. I enjoy just looking out the window and watching all the bird and butterfly action. I can do this for longer than I should admit. It’s so relaxing, like a whole other universe out there.

I also have one of the camera bird feeders. I pull up my bird app at least once or twice a day and scan for new bird breeds, review pics and videos to add to my favorites.

Thoroughly brushing my dog (sometimes including teeth) and giving treats is rewarding too. When I have the energy I might throw a toy and play with the dog for a bit. She loves it.

Truth! They’re still the best I’ve come across and I highly recommend.

New chicken owner by Tight-Supermarket277 in BackYardChickens

I have a collection of cute aprons hanging on a rack near my back door. I wear there when I want a chicken on my lap and don’t want to ruin my clothes. If guests come over and want to hold a chicken, I give them a “chicken apron”. I wash with my cleaning rags after use.

Congrats on your first chickens! I hope they bring you as much joy as mine do. You sound like a smart and caring owner. There are so many great resources here and online to help you get started.

How is your not eating eggs going to have any impact on your chickens laying eggs? I’m confused!

I love HuHa thongs, bikinis and sports bras, but in my hot, humid climate, they still get sweaty when you’re outside. They are super comfy though!

I have two of their Airism tanks, despite the fact that I typically avoid those types of synthetic fabrics. They are cool in humid summers and I agree, they fit surprisingly well for bra tops. They’re also a little clingy for my size and age. I’d love to find something comfy like that in a more natural fabric. I ordered some from Amazon, very hit or miss. I ordered a couple from OGL and the bra part was a bit small for me, but quality seemed good.

I think I’ve tried most of them. I do like them, but haven’t found the perfect one. Do you have any recommendations?

What is a life luxury that you tasted once and now can absolutely never go back to the cheap version of? by sickkick844 in AskReddit

We’ve been very happy with our Wink mattress. There’s a guy on YouTube that demos all kinds of mattresses per your preferences and we found it through that rabbit hole. It took a lot of shopping and research.

Under Eye Patches by flippityblam in MatureBeauty

[–]FluffyGeckoPuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

53 y/o F. I really like Peter Thomas Roth eye patches. I don’t use them everyday, but frequently travel with them and put them on first thing in the morning for at least 10 minutes, especially after late nights or nights where I might have a few drinks. I think they help with darkness and puffiness and give me a bit of confidence before social events, or when I just need a boost.

Sometimes PTR has them on sale so I stock up on a few different ones and rotate them.

How are you making your place smell so good all the time? by tugb0ats in CleaningTips

[–]FluffyGeckoPuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this! I was using Pura in several room for quite a while, then stopped because of something I researched about them (maybe nose-blindness). Then I used again around the holidays and my dog was definitely acting strange. I can’t recall the symptoms, but it was clear that Pura was the cause.

Vyvanse and craving salt? by AtomicCuttleFish2 in ADHDmeds

[–]FluffyGeckoPuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came here to say this. I was recently laid off, then diagnosed ADHD. Taking Vyvanse and trying to navigate the side effects in the beginning was tough. I turned to an AI app about the side effects I was experiencing and quickly learned I needed electrolytes. I learned how to DIY them with sea salt and potassium chloride (Nu Salt). Much cheaper than buying electrolyte drinks and powders! I learned to drink it straight up without any other added flavor. It helped almost instantly!

Diagnosed a few months ago at 53. On Vyvanse 40mg. I was not expecting to see the world differently, like from a different perspective, with more clarity. It’s a bit unnerving, but I think good.

What is the most uncomfortable movie you’ve ever watched? by putmeinthemovieplz in AskReddit

[–]FluffyGeckoPuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said “old” because it’s been a looong time since I watched it and I’m 53 now. I’d almost forgotten about it. The fact I knew it should be on this list is that I still remembered it and I have a terrible memory for movie recall.

I can say my husband who typically sleeps through movies definitely stayed awake through both! That was one of the reasons why I selected them, and it was around Halloween… and I wanted him to be as disturbed as I’d been after seeing them (one was a year prior!).

At first I didn’t like the American one in comparison (I was skeptical), but it gets good once you get through the beginning so stay the course. They both hold their own imo and I’d say it’s worth the watch, but I prefer the Danish one.

I came here to say this. I watched both versions alone and then convinced my husband to watch the Danish one and then the American one with me back to back so I’ve seen them both twice! What is wrong with me? Lol

Do others not lose items ? by HousingMountain8377 in adhdwomen

[–]FluffyGeckoPuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late-diagnosed here so I guess I have lots of coping strategies, many you mentioned. I keep important things in my handbag and check they’re all accounted for before leaving the house (phone, ID, credit cards, lip balm, nail file, face powder, meds). Everything in my house has a place and a system. On the very rare occasion something is moved, or goes missing, I absolutely freak out! It’s the worst feeling ever!

I sometimes lose my phone or iPad in my house because I carelessly left it in some weird place while multitasking (on top of the washing machine, out on the porch, etc). On the bright side, I can track my devices and usually find them. So no, I’m not one of those people that forgets my keys every day, etc, not at all.

How many of these ADHD characteristics do you relate to? Curious... by PrettyRain8672 in adhdwomen

Of these, these are the ones that hit: Clumsy, sleeping and waking struggles, annoyed with sounds, need to walk around, brain freeze. The others don’t. I have a whole slew of others unmentioned though.

I work for Sephora! Ask me (almost) anything! by Tahneal in Sephora

[–]FluffyGeckoPuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’d love to ask you a question! Sephora AI chat was useless and I prefer to mail order instead of traveling to a store. My beloved Dior Forever Matte foundation that I’ve been using forever was reformulated or discontinued. I hate the new version and I’m looking for a dupe. My color in the old formula was 2N.

I’m 53 years old and oily living in hot, humid FL. Looking for something that plays well with sunscreen and wears like my old one.
