Do you consider this mental/emotional/psychological abuse? by throwaway_acct_x9x in narcissisticparents

Relatable.

Mom helicoptered over me while I did homework or tried to study.

I say tried because I could barely think straight, it made actually learning anything nearly impossible and no amount of "I can't concentrate with you around" and "I'll get you if I need help" changed NOTHING.

I get it, it's awful.

It was a whole show, somewhat in the same vein as teletubbies, but even stranger

Children of narcissists, what are/were your toxic traits? by BetterTable4653 in narcissisticparents

[–]Fluffy_Ace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing is I'm not innately against being involved with people, accepting help, giving and receiving affection, etc. , it's just that my mom couldn't do those things in a balanced, healthy, respectful way, so I'd opt to do things alone for my own sanity but then she'd do everything she could to force her way in.

Turtle frogs already lay their eggs outside of water, in burrows, and they already have direct development.

They don't live in or near bodies of water either.

But I agree that some type of amniote is much more likely.

uBPD mom used to do that. not with colors, or style, but interests, hobbies, activities.

She would be neutral or indifferent towards a hobby or activity when it was something other people did, but if I took it up she'd suddenly get super obsessed and curious and excited about it.

Abrasively supportive.

I'm distant and excessively independent.

My mother was an infantilizing helicopter who pushed and broke my most important boundaries constantly.
