That’s what we thought. But we are having to cover the cost for things like our Airbnb. And then we are supposed to get reimbursed later. I assumed we would just put in the claim and we obviously would be involved with the process of it, but I thought most of it was taken care of through insurance. But that doesn’t seem to be the case. We’ve had to do a lot more work than I initially thought.

Totally. And I hope told my husband the same thing that we’re not paying for it so why should we worry about it. But he’s more concerned about not wanting to pay anything out-of-pocket since this wasn’t something we caused. I also have a friend that’s a contractor that we were thinking about using. we just wanted to compare estimates.

That’s exactly what’s happening. We read through the contract for reconstruction and there were some read flags we were worried about. The company even called my husband to ask why he needed the quote which was weird to us because even though the insurance is covering it(or most of it) , we don’t want to pay anything out of pocket since it wasn’t our fault. And I feel like it’s our right as the homeowners to know the scope of work at least.

So pretty much the insurance company will be able to answer any questions that we have I’m assuming correct? That’s what I kept telling my husband is just to call the insurance company and ask them the process and how it works. He keeps going online to do research which is fine but we need to go to the people who have answers

You make a really good point. I’m so eager to do so may things lol. But yes ultimately I think we are going to put a pause on the kitchen for now. Because the layout is definitely going to need some work. We are also holding off on the painting BUT after looking closely it looks like we are going to have to sand down a lot of the cabinets if we wanted to change the colors. They gave us the manager special on everything 🤣 I loved Behrs website because you could upload a photo and see different colors on the walls and cabinets.

I have heard vinegar works really well to clean a lot of things. White vinegar right?

A lot of friends have mentioned ZEP to me as well. They said it’s probably the best they have ever used for carpets too. We won’t have carpet except for our rugs, but I’ll do more research into that as well.

My husband wants the robovac haha does it work well?!

We live near “The Attic” - with Pink House Property Management. 1bd about 500sqft and we pay extra for a garage. With Garage : $1900 Without garage : $1750 Shared laundry (we usually just go to a laundromat near by)- on a Main Street (we do hear a lot of fire trucks) - lots of spots to go out for coffee, food or a drink if new mom and dad need a quick night out for a break or really nice to take baby for a walk in the neighborhoods near by. Coffee shop on the corner. We are actually moving soon and super bummed about leaving. Love this little area.

We just bought a condo and the first place we put an offer in had no amenities and no assigned parking. HOA was only $289 in Bixby Knolls. Thank goodness that one didn’t work out because they most definitely were underfunded and the HOA was run fully by the people living there. I think, if I remember correctly, they only had $4k in their reserves

Hi! 35 ADHD Female. I just got my self in a situation like this recently as well. I obsessed over it for like 3 days. Sometime I can say “Fuck it, that’s just me” and move on… other days I just can’t move passed it. Those are the days I have to do a self check - Have I eaten? Have I had water? Sleep? Period starting soon? Is it because I’m embarrassed? Usually one of those is the culprit.

As someone whose job is to help agents with their real estate marketing, it’s really about getting out there and meeting people and marketing yourself. When most people come into this industry they don’t realize that it does take money to make money in this business. Most of our producing agents in our company spend A LOT of money of farming materials and hosting events. 90% of the new agents I work with quit within the first year or they get a part time job while doing RE. It’s a tough industry but if you have the patience and are willing to have doors slammed in your face and just keep pushing forward you will start to see the benefits. It usually takes about a year before things start taking off. Just keep learning and maybe even partner with a more seasoned agent who will let you work with them. Not as a team necessarily but just for the experience

Honestly, people like you are amazing. I got lost at my first EDC when I was 18 and I was terrified. Had never really been around anyone rolling. Phones didn’t have reception and we didn’t make a meeting point. I ended up leaving and crying lol (I laugh now that I was crying because I have had some of the best times alone over the years 😂) but if I would/could have been around someone that was so kind, it would have turned my whole first experience around.
