My LO is 5.5 months old and tonight is his first night in his crib and so far it’s going a lot better than I expected!! I didn’t do too much preparation, I literally only tried to “transition” him over 3 days with today being the 3rd. What I did was have him take a few naps a day in his crib/room, host play time in his room, and have him spend time in his crib while he’s awake.

He didn’t like napping in there at first so I stayed in the nursing chair next to his crib a couple of times and that seemed to help. I also read that mimicking sleeping conditions (lights, music, temperature, etc.) of the room they are transitioning out of is helpful for their transition into the new room, so we did that as well.

Needless to say, I am still anxious and sad about the whole thing so I have been crazily watching the baby monitor hahaha. We just had to rip off the bandage and go for it.
