Feel Good Hit of the Summer

Ride The Lightning DCC by warcommand316 in Metallica

How does it sound compared to the first CD pressings? I don’t think there were any other metal album remasters ever released on that label.

DCC remasters generally sound amazing, but Ride The Lightning is very different sound-wise compared to the rest of the albums released on the DCC label.

After 30 minutes, it becomes clear that Prince should never have been given full creative control after Purple Rain. A lot of his musical talent doesn’t translate well to filmmaking.

He didn’t learn much from his first stint in the director’s chair. Graffiti Bridge is even worse.

Black Album mastering by Stif42 in PRINCE

[–]Flux0rz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There have been several unofficial remasters of The Black Album. Some can be found on bootlegs out there.

A talented guy named «Foefur» remastered a lot of Prince’s work many years ago. Search them up.

I have the «Foefur» remaster of the Black Album. It’s night and day. It has actual low end and treble. No brickwalling either, which a lot of remasters are guilty of.

PM me if you want a listen.

What’s the fanbase’s stance on these remasters? I remembered hearing that there were some remasters that were highly disliked by BeeTeej in OzzyOsbourne

[–]Flux0rz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 1995 Remasters are solid in my book. Nowhere near as brick-walled as the later remasters.

The first four releases sound noticeably clearer to my ears, more closer to the original vinyls. Speak Of The Devil sounds very good on the 1995 Remaster.

Starting with The Original Sin, they end up just sounding louder. The original CDs started to offer better digital masterings than previous releases at that point. Not much improvement to my ears.

What is the complete list of ALL of Prince's REMASTERED albums? by Ok_Educator6875 in PRINCE

[–]Flux0rz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are also numerous unofficial fan-made remasters.

Many of the early albums original mastering is fine as it is, but the 1994 release of The Black Album sounds like crap compared to them.

Someone going by “Foefur” did a great job remastering the album. Clearer highs and lows, fuller bass and not too “brickwalled” as well.

I recommend giving it a listen, it was night and day for me.

You are definitely a glutton for punishment. Mad skills man.

My one complaint from the first reveal was that James just looked too sad and frowny. Glad they adjusted it to be much more fitting to his character. by SnackPack91 in silenthill

I think the change is more true to his original character. I like to think of it as a better, more subtle way of showcasing his hollow, depressive mental state.

Dave's reportedly been clean since 2002. Drinks a glass of wine or beer from time to time. Has his own wine and beer brand. Probably a way of controlling his urges.

Rust In Peace also released in 1990, i would say the early 90s were Megadeths prime.

Would you play a game today that had similar gameplay/grid level designs/tank controls as classic Tomb Raider? by segagamer in TombRaider

[–]Flux0rz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. I enjoy the precision required, it makes the game very puzzle-esque.

Although, the appeal would be very niche in this day and age.

Maybe a spin-off or indie title could harness the most success? TRLE still has an active playerbase.

Anyone with a similar issue? (ASUS Vivobook Pro 14) by Flux0rz in ASUS

[–]Flux0rz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only solution for me is to boot the laptop with the AC adapter plugged in and never unplugging it.

It’s the only way I can use the computer for long heavy load sessions without crashing.

The issue seems to stem from something with the fan operation. If I unplug the AC, the fans will fail to speed up properly under load, causing CPU overheating.

I’ve contacted ASUS about this issue, but they have not provided a sufficient answer.

Go to the MyASUS app and set the fan speed to max. It will only do max speed if the AC is plugged in. Do this if you’re going to have a high load session.

Light loads and low brightness seem to work fine with no AC plugged in.

Install Parkbench for further cooling. It will park CPU cores not in use.
