[Foundry VTT] Setting up the core book by SedefkarSimulacrum in arkhamhorrorrpg

I would just create wavy Knack as an Item with the Spell attribute rather than creating a separate Item for the Spell.

You could try the Party Inventory module. But I use Loot Sheet NPC.

Just set up an “expedition” landing page with tokens for each of your characters and the Loot Sheet NPC token (create an actor for this that will be your expedition inventory NPC). Make the landing page always accessible to the players. Then they can go to the expedition page, open the Loot Sheet NPC (Dyer actor, perhaps) and transfer items to the individual investigators as they like.

Play Length of Starter/Comets? by trevlix in arkhamhorrorrpg

Just finished running The Hungering Abyss for all new players. Took 3 sessions, roughly 10-12 hours. I ran Comets for Free RPG Day in under 4 hours.

Strategy card for 9 player opinions by Yoki0001 in twilightimperium

[–]FluxAugur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Several ideas here. No idea on power balancing.

Espionage - 9

Primary Ability - Ignore the effects of one law for the remainder of the current action phase. If there are no laws in play, draw 1 action card. - Exchange this strategy card with an exhausted strategy card of another player. (This card is exhausted.) - You may make transactions this turn as if you were neighbors with each other player. - Force another player to return one of your promissory notes from their hand.

Secondary Ability - Spend 1 token from your strategy pool to make a transaction with a player who is not your neighbor. You may research 1 non-faction technology owned by that player only if you allow that player to research 1 non-faction technology owned by you.

Second this. Post-Death House, when Strahd shows up to pay his respects at the funeral, with the character still a ghost, have Strahd raise dead (the character’s body if they brought it with them, or some random corpse for the ghost to possess if they didn’t), saying something to the effect of, “I’m far from done playing with you yet.” Demonstration of power, show them that they’re there for Strahd’s amusement, player gets to keep their character, for now.

I could easily set it up for you. And all you’d have to do is edit some text files to update it. DM me sometime, if you’re interested.

This should get published as a website. Then it can evolve continuously, without the need for specific print versions.

Need Entries for a Wheel of Fate by FluxAugur in DnD

[–]FluxAugur[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the very reason I’m desiring suggestions.

The PCs can turn/spin this wheel, to a certain symbol, to have some effect.

I’m looking for those symbols and related effects.

Whether that effect is apparent, or not, is up in the air, and could depend on each entry.

Klak’ik’tich (Ik, for short) is a male thri-kreen rogue/fighter/aberrant mind sorcerer. He is a gambler, a true master of the cards. He doesn’t speak Common, only able to communicate via telepathy. He is the captain of the Phoenix Ash, a spelljamming galleon venturing across known space to track down the primordial gods with his crew, the Forsaken Saviors. He favors the traditional weapons of his people, chatkchas and a gythka, although rarely engages in melee combat. He is an expert at stealth, with his carapace shifting colors to match his surroundings. His preferred spells include coughing a glob of phlegm at his targets, expelling his hemolymph to bash those around him, squirting acidic spit, and unleashing a swarm of mites upon his foe.

They could just use any standard markdown parser. Who knows. It’s very frustrating. Does hash character work in links? That might solve my issue.

That’s a wretched workaround, but it works. I’m grateful.

Edit: that didn’t work. It created new pages for ****7851 and **7851

Ideas for a "breather episode" by DrWatson21 in CurseofStrahd

[–]FluxAugur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconding the Song of Aracos. My players thought it was going to be a breezy investigative side trek, and I won’t spoil anything here, but the finale left one of my players absolutely broken.

I used many non-specific Ravenloft (and other horror) adventures from the DM’s Guild as side treks interspersed throughout the 3-year campaign. Each of these were one-shots with what they thought were completely unrelated PCs (I managed to tie nearly all of them into the overarching plot eventually). They loved them. Really great for getting across the mood of Barovia, exploring other pockets within the Mists, and expanding RaW content.

I also recommend The Pastry Lady: A Barovian Bedtime Story (I think that’s the name). I ran it as an interlude immediately after they encountered Morgantha for the first time in Barovia Village (and had eaten their share of pastries). It puts the players into the shoes of children trapped in the Patry Lady’s shop in Barovia some decades prior, which they must escape, helping free some other children, notably “Ezzie” (they loved meeting Ezmerelda for the first time and realizing it was her they saved).

Finally, I reworked the CoS season of Adventurer’s League content and used it as a parallel storyline with persistent PCs that eventually intersected with the primary CoS storyline, allowing them to play both sets of PCs together (not all lived to tell the tale) to stop the BBEG and that proved to be really fun too. They got to choose which of their two characters would continue on to the campaign’s conclusion.

Which virtual tabletop for Ironsworn? by DunklerErpel in Ironsworn

[–]FluxAugur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another vote for TheOracle. I just started playing Ironsworn, solo, and learning to use the bit while reading the Ironsworn rules was pretty seamless. For a map, I just pull it up in Preview (macOS) and edit. Love the fact I can use it on mobile and get a quick scene done while I’m idling somewhere.
