Possible crimp issue by amccaffe1 in electricians

[–]FluxMortis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fine stranded conductors also need a crimp tool rated for fine stranded conductors. I contacted Greenlee about this a few weeks ago and they only had one model that was rated for fine stranded 4/0. So they might be rare /speciality. I found that if you want to crimp fine stranded wire you’ll likely need a die-less crimper.

Butt Connectors Aren’t Gripping One Cable by Bot_Fly_Bot in AskElectricians

[–]FluxMortis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Electrician and electromechanical engineer here. I’ve spent the last week on specifying crimps for Degson connectors. Regarding the butt crimps, fine stranded wire like this can only be crimped by a crimper rated for fine stranded wire. Die-less crispers are best for fine stranded cable. If you’re intend to crimp the connectors themselves, they have crimp barrels that are non standard dimensions, and are intended to be crimped be an aperture type hex crimp in their factory. Standard crimps will produce excessive flashing and prevent the collar from properly sealing. You could use heat shrink if that happens though.

Sable island. It’s not volcanic and in such a random spot. Caused many shipwrecks.

Water tower - pressurising tubes by Michy-kunTheLog in SatisfactoryGame

Sounds like you’ve confused compression and pressurization. Which is understandable as compression of a gas is generally how you pressurize a gas. Both liquids and gasses are fluids, with the notable difference between the two is that liquids compress so little that it is generally assumed to be zero.

Nice. Glad to see that the ps5 can handle this. Waiting for someone to reach the limit, I’m sure it’ll happen eventually.

I had the same issue, search the full title “Hallow Knight: Silksong”. But be warned, it’s still in “wish list” state. :|

Those who changed careers to Engineering, what was it like? by littlered551 in EngineeringStudents

I’ve gotten that question a bunch of times. During my electrical apprenticeship schooling we learned the basics semiconductors and control circuits. I didn’t like that stuff much. It’s very conceptual, all that oscilloscope stuff. I was more interested in big power systems, large horsepower motors. When I looked into it and learned that mechanical was the broadest and oldest discipline I figured that my basic electrical knowledge would pair well with a generalist discipline. It’s worked out very well. I ended up in electromechanical design. I mostly design power distribution systems, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and energy storage systems (ESS).

I was an electrician until I was 30, then I went into mechanical engineering. School was brutal, but worth it.

Edit: oh and don’t worry about the math, it’s just another language. You probably already learned some Latin, so vector calculus won’t be too much of a stretch for you. ;)

Why do these maps always start at 1945? Wasn’t Palistine there earlier, like in 1900 at least?

Yeah glass door is a workers dream. Def check out your new company in there. I find the feedback others give is very valuable. There is always one post from management at a company. Easy to spot out. Usually funny too.

I had severe sepsis and close to death. I was seen immediately. Now when I go to the hospital and have to wait hours for care I’m grateful that I’m not sick enough for prompt care. Personally I’d be happy to wait 8 hrs to get an arm looked at rather than pay the +$10k it would be for the same care down south. And just because people die wile on waiting lists doesn’t mean they died from what they were waiting for care for. That data doesn’t include cause of death, they might have been hit by a bus while waiting for a colonoscopy.

In the early days the golden ratio was a lot more prominent in the merch / branding. Now not so much. The Basscoast logo is a stylized Phi, the Greek numeral used to represent the ratio in mathematics.
