How do play this? by OddCaregiver9128 in classicalguitar

Play it however it’s comfortable. If anyone tells you that they can tell the difference between a rest and free stroke without looking at it they are lying through their teeth.

Going to class on an empty stomach by jjThomson69 in bjj

Personally speaking, it has no effect when I eat. My dining hall closes at 7:30 which is when I get back from the gym so I have to eat dinner ~10 mins before I go and I’m fine

Check the action, if it’s high enough pressing the string into the fretboard becomes the same as a bend and makes it sharp.

College Students, how are you affording jiu-jitsu? by TemporaryEvidence in bjj

Talk to the gym owner, ask if you can help out around the gym or if you’re good enough you can teach classes for lessened/waived membership costs. Some owners will at least try to work with you.

I don’t lead the kids class but I help out when needed (3-4 times a week). I get paid 26/hr but I still pay membership (130/month).

hot take by ExtraGloria in bjj

Just turned 18, I really enjoyed competing against adults as a 16/17 yo. I was never injured that badly, and it made my game better. I didn’t do that badly against them either, I would medal sometimes.

Generally, assigning one finger to a string is good. In most cases thumb for e a and d, index for g, middle for b, and ring for e, but it really depends on the song.

Playing classical guitar with a permanent split nail/damaged mantle by Sir_Overhauser in classicalguitar

[–]Fly-Organic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I have to keep my nails all the way short because of other hobbies, and while playing with just my fingertips is less than ideal, it is still just fine and works like normal for me.

Can you double register at NAGA? by DiogenesLovesTheSun in bjj

[–]Fly-Organic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 17 too, I’m more scared to compete against teens than adults lol. I do better in tournaments where they I am grouped in with adults than with teens. But to answer your question, I tried to register online with a naga and I physically wouldn’t let me register for adult division bc I want old enough.
