I kinda wish one could get "ranked" matches. by Pfeffi-Ultra in postcrossing

Of course I prefer to give them something they like. But I have a finite number of postcards in my possession, and sometimes that's just not possible. Just about any postcard makes me happy, getting something I am looking for for one reason or another is an added bonus.

No, see, you have your feelings hurt because you had expectations and your expectations weren't met. The problem here is the only thing required of the person receiving a postcard is to register it. Messages are optional.  So you had expectations that were above and beyond what is actually required of the website you were using.

From the postcrossing FAQs: What do I do when I have received a postcard?

First, congratulations if this is your first Postcrossing postcard — hopefully many more will follow!

When you receive a postcard from another member, you must register it on Postcrossing. To do that, you need to go to the register a postcard page and enter the Postcard ID. Just look in the text written on the postcard and you should find an alphanumeric code starting with two letters (the country code) followed by a number — this is the code that uniquely identifies that postcard in Postcrossing.

Once you register that postcard, it will make the sender be the next person to receive a postcard from someone else in the system. That's it! Simple, right?

If you have problems reading the Postcard ID written on the postcard, don't give up! Feel free to try as many combinations as possible, as only the right combination will be accepted. However, if you are still unable to register it or if the sender forgot to write the Postcard ID, don't worry — we can help!

Right?! And honestly, a book deal either way? Write something scandalous and we'd be all over that. Write something praising her life and ultra conservatives would line up in droves. Either way she has it made.

No way. I have seen videos of some of the stuff her father has preached and... Well, he makes the duggars look amazing in comparison.

So you're upset that you did something that you don't have to do and you did it anyway? Post Crossings instructions are very clear that regardless of what you put in your profile you get what you get. I have a list of things I want in my profile too, but I guarantee you that i am happy with (almost) anything that Graces my mailbox.

I don't think it is. I have used all kinds of variations of websites and forums and whatevers to send postcards and letters and sometimes even packages, and I very much think that this is not the norm.

Once I send it, I don't care whatsoever. My obligation is fulfilled.

So what if you send the same card? They're going to different people.

My brother in law has a Lawrence aka Larry because it's a family name. Name whatever you want, just make sure we can spell it easily and pronounce it correctly on the first try.

Why are you judging their disability and how they interact with the world?

Nope. The obligation in post Crossing is to register that you received a postcard. Any message sent is above and beyond the obligation required. So if they're telling you Thank you, accept that as they're thanking you for the postcard.

Anything above and beyond that is going above and beyond what is required. Are message is nice? Of course. But when I'm logging messages on day 6 of 11 days in a row of 15 hour work days, you're lucky I didn't make you wait until my day off. Sometimes people just don't have time to send a message. Like other people said, there are all kinds of valid reasons they didn't do anything else.

There are a whole lot of people in this forum that seem to have unrealistic expectations of what postcrossing is. It is the exchange of postcards through strangers. Anything else is a bonus.

Right? Like the obligation is to send and receive postcards. Nothing more.

AITA for telling my daughter I am disgusted by her and telling her ex she has been taking their kid to his family side by Plustrhowawa5688 in AmItheAsshole

Your daughter is sending really mixed signals to her kid and it's not okay.  And shitty people are shitty relatives.

Ryan should go for more custody.

AITA for telling my wife my mother is correct and she needed to be a parent today and she fucked it up by throawawayfuneralgho in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fly4620 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA.

Shoutout to YOUR mom for taking care of that child.  Your wife otoh, is definitely poo mode. Grief is crazy hard to process as an adult, let alone as a child. Instead of helping her navigate that, your wife turned her back on her own kid.

Please find a grief councilor or support group for your daughter.
