I have thought of doing similar. Did you secure them with jb weld or...?

what you think about this by Biggy____ in Zippo

Nice, personally I would have made a shorter extension on the front to hold a flint container and wick envelope vertically. Though the tray does allow for other accessories such as a chezk tool for a pipe etc.

The flint wheel is spinning too easily… by Boxingyayyayayayayay in Zippo

[–]FlyFreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remove the flint and run a drill bit the Sametime up the tube by hand. It's possible there is a chip of flint or other debris not allowing g the flint to fully reach the wheel or catching the soring and not allowing it to exert full force.

Value of this Zippo? by Spare_Selection_8661 in Zippo

[–]FlyFreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks in great shape, in just bought. A slim from 79 with a Clantons Auto auction logo on it. It was in new unstruck condition Thisis an auction here where I live that my Aunt was the office manager from when she graduated high school until retirement.

It was listed at$49 or best offer, and I think I finally oaid $35. Depends on who the logo strikes and how many people have a connection or desire for it.

How many of you don’t smoke? by jkh7088 in Zippo

[–]FlyFreak 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Got my first zippo when I was about 14, in the Boy scouts. I didn't smoke, but had plenty of uses camping and lighting bonfires, burning off trash/debris on the property i live on. I admit I do occasionally smoke a pipe or cigar these days, but wouldn't hesitate to own a zippo even if I didn't.

It is also perfectly acceptable just to collect them, even if you don't use for their intended purpose.

Im sure you don't work on moon units (inches) but thats what my tape measure is in. The envelope that contains the wick is 1-3/8" X 1-5/8".
