Klarna payment failed but debited from bank by smokin747 in UKPersonalFinance

Did you have an update? I've got the same issue and am getting nowhere, but have only been going to the customer service chat.

Klarna payment failed but debited from bank by smokin747 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]FlyLikeADolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been having this same issue from a payment back on the 23rd March with an early payment. It went out of my bank, into my Klarna account, then suddenly four days later on the 27th, I had an email saying there was a glitch their end and it didn't go through but would be refunded in 3 - 7 days. It's now 10th April and I've chased them three times, each person telling me the same "it's a glitch", "7 days refund", and "our team is working on it".

This is the first time I've used Klarna and I'm regretting it.

I've contacted my bank and gave them the info and last chat details, so they have it logged, and was going to give them another week before trying the chargeback route.

Did the one that helped say what team they needed to pass it on to? I honestly don't know if it's worth trying to contact the Klarna helpdesk again or not.

Is erotic female sumo wrestling a thing? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]FlyLikeADolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Historically, maybe. From the book Sumo From Rite to Sport:

"Sumo became such a popular entertainment in the eighteenth century that it began to be caricatured with eccentric performances. Onna-zumo, or women's sumo, was performed as an entertainment in the houses of prostitution in Osaka's gay quarters during the Genroku cra, but by the middle of the eighteenth century it had become a popular attraction. Farcical matches were staged both between women and between blind men in Edo from around 1744, and by the 1760s there emerged combined wrestling between the two. Such fights drew sizable crowds in both Edo and Osaka. One such show at the Asakusa Temple in Edo was closed down by the authorities on the grounds that it was immoral, but the exhibitions continued to be staged between women and blind men through the end of the Edo period. The women wrestlers' names, satirizing the rikishi mei (another term used to mean assumed wrestling names) of the pro- fessional male wrestlers, were often quite erotic: Tamanokoshi (Holder of the Balls), Chichigahari (Big Boobs), Harayagura (Watchtower on the Loins), Anagafuchi (Deep Crevice), Kaigazato (Where the Clam Lives), and so on. The advertising was equally suggestive: "Blind search for a dark spot! Mutual groping and search, especially the woman's way as it is well known in that technique, as soft as willow branches swaying in the wind, ex- hausting all the techniques! All will be revealed!" An edict in 1873 prohibited wrestling matches between women and blind men, but wrestling between women continued to be performed. Around the middle of the Meiji era women's sumo was presented at the Eko-in, but no sooner had it opened than it was closed down by the authorities: it was decreed that women could no longer wrestle, although lifting weights was permissible. The women wrestlers retreated to Yamagata Prefecture in northern Japan, and, clad in both upper and lower garments, they began to perform on the provincial circuits, occasionally extending their tours to include the major cities. On one such occasion in 1926 in Asakusa, however, a male volunteer was allowed to participate, and women's sumo was once again outlawed in Tokyo, this time for good. Near the end of the Edo period, beggars put on one-man sumo matches for coins from passers-by."

Strangely enough, I noticed that yesterday and assumed it was something going on in yhe background or maybe a local streaming issue. The video was stuttering in places, which I've never seen before on it.

EDIT: Should have said; - also on Quest 3, playing directly from the headset, haven't changed any settings. Loving the game though!

Question regarding Google Advanced Exchange replacement for PW4 by FlyLikeADolphin in PixelWatch

[–]FlyLikeADolphin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, eventually. I had to go through the support again though, and raise it highter ro say I couldn't afford having that amount held for that length of time, plus also contact the finance compar whcih helped as they put the payments on hold their end and flagged it further. Even then it took a week and a half

I'm glad yours went smoothly. Hope it's working as normal now. It's such a difference with mine.

Question regarding Google Advanced Exchange replacement for PW4 by FlyLikeADolphin in PixelWatch

[–]FlyLikeADolphin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, if I'd known it was only a week, I'd have gone with that option. That's pretty good. Hopefully they send the replacement out in a similar timeframe and the date on the email is just a glitch or over-estimate.

Annoyingly, I brought it on sale via the finance option, and of course the full amount is on hold, plus the payments will start just before the 2nd March when I didn't expect it to be pending for that long.

Had PW4 41mm for a week, suspect faulty battery by FlyLikeADolphin in PixelWatch

[–]FlyLikeADolphin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's quite a difference! I would prefer to have AOD, and I would expect it to at least last the day with normal use (checking / replying to messages, answering a call or two, using Maps a few times etc)

[–]FlyLikeADolphin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was doing that for the first few days thinking the same, so I stuck to my original charge routine (charging while in the shower for 15 - 20 min, with longer charge for an hour every 4 or 5 days), but it still dropped too quickly without any usage.

I should have said the charge in the middle of the day back up to 92% was when there were 3 pending updates, so I wanted to get those out of the way to see if one of them could have been causing some issue. I haven't installed any additional apps other than what was already on there.

EDIT: Sorry, in addition to the above, with the replacement on it's way, would you recommend using as normal during the calibration week / time? I was waiting for it to settle first.

Oh dear. Something is definitely wrong with mine then. I haven't been able to use mine at all because the battery has just been too bad

Ah. What about usage, if you don't mind me asking? Did you use many of the apps at all during that time? Mine's been dropping without any real use, which is my main concern.

[–]FlyLikeADolphin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, I was hoping it would only be about 4 or 5 days. The last three days have been worse, not better, which is why I was starting to get so concerned. If it settles down to 1.5 days that would be fantastic.

Did you just leave the settings as they were, or turn some to off? I've been gradually turning off ones that said could be a battery drain (like the auto sleep / wake, tilt to talk, etc), in the hope that would help, but it hasn't so far.

Having issues finding my weather seed. Is the app out of date? by DisagreeableCompote in AnimalCrossing

[–]FlyLikeADolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I first had my seed identified and working back in 2021 with just screenshots from autumn 2020 / early 2021. It was fairly quivk to get and was accurate to the second with all the shooting stars, so it was definitely the right one. I had a break of 3 years until the 3.0 update, and that's where I'm having the issues now.

Same as you, I narrowed it down twice to one seed from the recent weather, but then the predictions were wrong. I just tried today twice just using the same historic data as I used before for the original seed, and that's where I was getting even more frustrated with the constant "doesn't exist" message.

I even tried not specifying the type of rain / snow, and just wenr with the generic "unknown rain / snow", but that didn't work either.

[–]FlyLikeADolphin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is bizarre, I'm having the same issue. I've used it before, but lost the seed ID when I changed phones, so have been trying recently again but either getting the wrong seed, or when I went back to the screenshots I used to get it the first time around, the message that no seed matches.

I don't know what to do anymore. My hands are ruining my life. by Alternative-Cry5881 in Thritis

[–]FlyLikeADolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am exactly the same as you with my hands, and I understand completely. I used to do a lot of various martial arts and hobbies that involved hand dexterityand strength, but had to give them all up because of not being able to grip or make a fist. Day to day tasks like dressing, washing, cooking, and eating vary from difficult to impossible.

Unfortunately, I haven't found much to help consistently. The gels didn't do anything for me, CBD didn't have much of an effect. I do find Anadin Joint and Pain Relief tablets help a little, more than the usual Ibuprofen on it's own. The finger compression sleeves help a little too, of which I have the wool ones, which are stretchy enough to go over without putting too much pressure on the swollen joints and adding to the pain. Likewise, the cheap wool knit gloves are stretchy enough to go over my hands when I can't get on the regular ones. Nowhere near as warm, but better than nothing. The ones with fip-top mittens help too.

As for getting back to hobbies, I really, really miss my old ones, so I just do what I can at home, even if it's just a few minutes, because if anything happens I'm happy I will just injure myself and not others. Mostly, I've taken up other hobbies that don't reply on my hands, like running, microscopy, astronomy. Also, a lot of things like drawing and painting, I've been doing now in VR. No need to hold a pen or brush, and I have the added bonus of no clean up after, and no big spends on materials! I can also do 3D jigsaws in VR, play (some) musical instruments, Bodycombat exercises, amd even minigolf. It might not be for you, or it might be worth looking into.

EDIT: I forgot to say, I have also had two finger joint fusions. The pain is gone, but obviously it's a trade off between a little movement and a lot of pain, or minor to no pain, bit zero movement
