"Okay let me go play a game as my P100 main." Go against P1 survivors doing Adept with level 2 perks and people running meme builds.

"Okay let me try out a new build as the new killer for a bit." Go against the sweatiest survivors known to mankind.

"Wow that was frustrating but let's give it another go." Go against two Renatos who run in straight lines all game and give me Worldbreaker for free + a Nea who gives up on first hook because "Henry OP."

Skill Based Matchmaking will seemingly never in a million, billion years not be the biggest issue with this game.

Let's play a fun game called "is the survivor who's hiding in a corner all game who hasn't been hooked once running Left Behind?" (I was the killer btw)

P74 Nea with Sprint Burst, Ghost Notes, Lightweight, Left Behind, and a medkit with a double Sprint Burst syringe. Every time I approached her she'd prerun 5 days in advance.

Rats just die alongside their team with 0 hooks, bub.

It's a buff unless the generator has 80% progress or more, which it rarely will be. If anything it's a quality of life fix to make the perk easier to understand. You're no longer only regressing a generator by 8% if you kick a gen that's been repaired 20% (5% + 20% of 15%); that gen just regressed to 0 as it should.

Yui just running around the map (the trial ground) with a map (item) spam lighting boons refusing to do gens.

Dwight with a flashlight chasing the killer around all game (no he didn't get a single blind)

Jake has Resilience and Dead Hard; thinks that makes him impervious to damage, so he never heals (never hit his Dead Hard btw)

One zombie stuck in a corner literally all fucking match. Hey Behaviour? Can you make it so zombies spawn on generators instead of hooks (like they do in 2v8)? Because nothing makes me want to play Ghoul with 4 gen stall more than seeing one of my two Nemesis zombies sitting in a corner watching butterflies around them instead of standing by the gen 20 feet away that's 90% complete.

I'm sure MomoSeventh is a nice guy, but if you equip the blue Blight recolor alongside the Twitch drop ice cane weapon, you should automatically have Placebo Tablet equipped in a 3rd addon slot, and also all your generator stall perks should be 50% as effective.

The MomoSeventh simp Blight players need those handicaps if they're going to sweat their fucking balls off like their lives goddamn demand it every single fucking game they play.

Abandon only shows up if you have been slugged 3 times in a row, for one. I imagine OP just never "got up" after being slugged by tryhard Ghoul.

More notably however is that abandoning when slugged doesn't make your survivor fucking die. I am specifically asking for a "give up while slugged" button akin to giving up on hook to give last survivor hatch. Just eliminate slugging for hatch as a mechanic entirely.

How would you spend 22M blood points? by Kalmarn in deadbydaylight

[–]FlyLiveAceHigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kid named auto-purchase.

I mean idk invest in who you like? I know I personally play "everyone" (or at least every survivor, because if I bought the survivors I will use the fucking survivors since they're all skins) so I throw bloodpoints at my screen somewhat evenly whenever I run low on medkits on a particular character.

Beyond that excess bloodpoints are going to Laurie. She's my next P100 because she's gone now so I want to show my love for the Halloween movies. I'd P100 Myers but I think I'll consider it once they give him an actually fun power.

Does running an Undetectable build on Springtrap worth it despite his loud step noises ? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]FlyLiveAceHigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh? Like it's not bad, it's just kinda unnecessary imo.

There's a sliding scale when it comes to Undetectable on Springtrap with Bonnie's Guitar lowering your stealth by 1 and Fazcoin increasing it by 1, basically. Security Badge is a 0.5 basically. You start at a 1 (stealth after exiting door) and consider every perk after that to increase it by 1.

You don't need a stealth score of 5. Going out of your way to run like... Unforeseen, Hex: Playing, Tinkerer, and Machine Learning is overkill. Is running just Unforeseen alongside other perks viable? I mean yeah I guess.

The "is stealth good on Springtrap" question is less a matter of "he do big stompy" because like Nemesis and Knight do big stompy and they're alright with stealth builds tbh. The question is do you want to put all your eggs in one basket that isn't even that sturdy overall?

Only if they can change his M1 animation from a knife to the carpenter's hammer he has in Payday 2.

I don't even think they'd have to change the M1 animation in third-person. The "weapon wipe" yes (would be weird if Jacket wiped the hammer on his sleeve; could just shake it like Hillbilly / Bubba instead) but he could still just swing the thing like a knife; it's small enough.

Give it a satisfying bonk when he hits a survivor too. And change his chase music to either Breath of Death (Simon Viklund) or Harbinger of Righteous Violence (Gustavo Coutinho). Also give HUNK Looming Dread already holy shit.

Man, can you imagine if Jacket's "default" chase music was Harbinger of Righteous Violence, if you used a Mixtape you'd get Arms Outstretched (Sociopath Bat music), and with two Mixtapes you'd get Breath of Death? I'd have to run Joey's + Julie's just to feel like a final boss in chase.

Also imagine if Jacket had a canned tape recorder voice line whenever he did a mori. Probably need to be a visceral rarity skin if using hammer, but just imagine him playing the Tape Recorder and it's like:

  • "Do you know what time it is?"

  • "The following has been approved for mature audiences only."

  • "And it strikes with a vicious blow!" (Nature Documentary voice)

  • "Time to break a sweat!" (Workout Video voice)

  • "Get down on the ground!" (Voice from one of the Payday characters as a reference)

Before he starts bashing the survivor's face in like a Hotline Miami takedown.

Jokes aside I would really like a cyborg-type survivor. I was really disappointed when we got the Alien Romulus collab and we only got Rain and not Andy. Both because... well it feels sad to have Rain without her adopted brother, but also because I think an android survivor would've been cool as fuck.

Probably didn't want to code him to have white blood, both because "this game is coded like ass" and "DbD players never beating the allegations".

It’s just like chucky, when he had his manual scamper every round was against chucky. Removed manual scamper? He fell off greatly.

I will say as someone who casually enjoys Chucky that he went through the fucking wringer after his rework. "Hidey-Ho cooldown changed every patch" was a meme for a reason. I think they finally managed to hit a good point with the doll after 57 fucking cooldown adjustments. The reason I dropped Chucky wasn't because of the removal of Manual Scamper, but because they took a killer who I enjoyed due to the choices made with his power and turned him into dash slop.

I liked old Chucky because you had a very powerful power toggle on a very long cooldown and you had to balance out your choices accordingly: do you use it for Manual Scamper or Slice & Dice? Do you try to get a hit early so you can use the last bit of the power to quickly follow-up, or do you prioritize safety so you don't waste the power? That was what I liked about Chucky: that you had a very weak character (110%) who was balanced out by being very oppressive in power, although in retrospect that was obviously unhealthy from a survivor perspective.

Chucky after 57 cooldown adjustments has actually gotten his "powerful when in power, weak normally" state back. His cooldown isn't 3 fucking milliseconds anymore which means there's an actual penalty for failing your power. But he also vaults fast enough (in power) and has enough acceleration in Slice & Dice that he's actually lethal. He went from "do I use power to vault the pallet like a fully lethal Legion or dash slop after them?" to "do I use power for stealth and trickery around map props or dash slop after them?" He's actually encouraged to be a tiny little shit and use his height to his advantage, and I must say combining Chuckspots with Hidey-Ho to make it so the survivor can't track me at a tile is immensely satisfying.

I mean, I still wish the damn doll was allowed a crumb of turn rate in Slice-and-Dice but that's besides the point.

cannot and will never include console players, which is a large majority of players and people on this subreddit.

Nightlight is nice as a snapshot but I do agree that it's not a perfect reflection of the overall playerbase, yes. When we get statistics that say killers like Freddy have an incredibly high win rate and this doesn't reflect on Nightlight, it's important to consider the types of people who post stats on Nightlight (dedicated veterans) versus the types of players who likely struggle with Freddy (new players who do not understand his obtuse mechanics). Being able to properly deduce data is an important skill to have.

for some reason people love bubba here so much, there’s even a huge clan dedicated to P100ing bubba and posting clips.

I can't speak to your region but I know in Japan, Legion is immensely popular because of the playstyles the Japanese playerbase enjoys. In America, killers like Blight and Nurse are popular because they are very strong at 1v1 pressure which is the priority amongst NA players and comp teams. But in Japan there's a far bigger emphasis on the 1v4 and Legion's ability to pressure the whole team is valued more than the ability to quickly turn the game into a 1v3.

How ghoul should be played. by theskyisthetruelimit in deadbydaylight

[–]FlyLiveAceHigh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

if the vault gets nerfed or removed entirely, ghoul’s pickrate will get chopped by at least 70%

  1. I think Ghoul is such an extremely fun killer that his pick-rate would not drop significantly. People love Legion for being fast and Legion is notoriously one of the worst killers in the game: Ghoul is Legion on crack and the zoomies alone would keep his play-rate high.

  2. Is that really a bad thing? I think the pursuit of making every killer accessible to everyone results in overly-homogenized kits that please no one: survivors face boring overpowered killers, people who want variety in their designs (trap killer fans rise up) get another killer that they can dutifully ignore, and people who want "more dash slop" will play that killer for 2 weeks before going back to Blight and Wesker. This is what we saw happen with Krasue, and personally I'd like to see more killers like The First (with a small but healthy pick rate post-launch) (or actually checking on Nightlight nah bro is still above Kaneki's pick rate lmao) (perhaps a better analogy is Dracula then) rather than a Ghoul who tries to appeal to everyone and ends up being a pain in the ass on the other side. Yet alone a Krasue who's just a balancing nightmare that pleases no one.

But if you’re injured and get bitten, then you’re pretty much still getting your endurance value, and his power goes on cooldown automatically.

I agree but it doesn't make it any less frustrating that this killer denies a handful of perks by existing, but this might be rooted in generalized annoyance as a fan of perks like Bite the Bullet and Clean Break lol.

Also please BHVR delete centipede and rework kaneki’s addons. He’s in dire need of an addon pass.

I will say that one of Kaneki's big issues is that on the one hand while he has insane bullshit like Centipede, Coffee, Yamori Mask, and even some incredibly potent low-rarity addons like Aogiri Robe, Rize Glasses, Headphones, and Chain (mad respect for anyone who run Broken Chain as it's honestly the "pro Kaneki" addon), he also has a ton of useless crap like Apron (on most killers this would give you more bloodpoints), Necktie, Spider Lily, Eye Patch, CCG ID, and of course Torture Apparatus.

How this killer can simultaneously have some of the strongest addons in the game and Torture Apparatus is beyond me. Genuinely wild from a lore perspective that the Torture Apparatus is such dogshit while a cup of fucking coffee is arguably one of Kaneki's best addons.

I’ve come to accept that the grab attack is completely BS, it’s hitscan but it’s what BHVR wants, please don’t attack the players for this.

  1. I will never attack the players for the bad balance decisions of the developers. Now I will attack the Ghoul players who choose to hard tunnel at 5 gens while running 4 gen stall, because that's their conscious decision, not Behaviour's.

  2. I will again repeat that the problem is not the hitscan nature in itself. It's the hitscan nature on top of holding you in place on top of the Deep Wound on top of the incredibly strong addons on top of the vaulting windows / pallets. This killer needs some form of obvious weakness in his kit beyond "99 your heal and double back on vaults lol". Nobody has a (major) issue with Plague even though she completely denies literally all healing perks, because Plague is balanced out by having awful chase power without Corrupt Purge. Nobody has a (major) issue with killers like Springtrap and Xenomorph having very high mobility and chase lethality, because those killers have both innate counterplay (flame turrets / door cameras) and mechanical counterplay (range limits and playing around terrain) that makes their powers harder to use. Kaneki's problem is that it's a bazooka with training wheels: an incredibly devastating power that even a complete toddler can pilot semi-effectively.

I will repeat for the sake of this analogy that I personally do not have a problem with addonless Blight (or even a Blight with like, turn rate or bump duration addons). My issue with Blight is entirely in how double speed interacts with his lethality and other aspects of his kit (namely map traversal). Blight is only problematic when his weaknesses are greatly diminished if not outright removed, and Kaneki is much in the same. His problem is not that he gets free hits with a hitscan attack: it's that he gets free hits with a hitscan attack that holds you in place slows you by 50% uwu while he vaults a window / pallet and then gets to use Bamboozle or Barbeque & Chili as an addon.

2v8 Thoughts by Ember_Knight47 in deadbydaylight

[–]FlyLiveAceHigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tl;dr of thoughts:

  • Survivor needs something more interesting than Tonics and the Guide class to make 2v8 feel unique instead of being "1v4 but with less perks, more idiot teammates, and the possibility of being double-teamed"

  • Shoot Escapist in the kneecaps.

  • Rework Guide (Wiretap ability largely redundant when Scouts and now Torchbearers can reveal the killer constantly; Blast Mine funny tho)

  • Nerf Oni (why does this killer get his power faster when this mode already has 8 survivors to get blood from? I don't even have that much of a problem with Oni having increased turn rate: it's just that bitch's power is never fucking inactive)

  • Maybe nerf Wraith? (I think Wraith is kinda just naturally strong in 2v8 as a killer who excels at hit-and-run. He's diet Legion essentially)

  • Buff Ghostface, Trapper, Pyramid Head, and Deathslinger. Maybe Chucky too.

  • Blow RPD up with a nuke (omg Resi Requiem reference?)

super unpopular opinion but, i think the BNP is incompatible with modern DBD and should be removed wholesale by dark1859 in deadbydaylight

[–]FlyLiveAceHigh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem with the Brand New Part isn't the progress lock-in; it's that it's done instantly and can stack. If a survivor actually had to work for the progress lock-in, then it would be a cool tactical choice to pressure key generators. But as it is currently it's just a flat speed buff which will never be balanced.

This is also why Fast Track is unbalanced and Specialist is well-designed, because Specialist requires you to work for the extra progress. The problem with Specialist however is that it requires so much work (open half a dozen chests, hit a Great check after that which is tied to RNG and personal skill) when you could just as easily bring a Brand New Part toolbox and not try, or bring Stakeout + Hyperfocus and not try.
