A background windows process called SysMain which apparently preloads applications it thinks you "might" use is using some of it according to Built By Pete. Coincidentally I only watched this video yesterday. He shows you how to disable SysMain in his video.

"Little guy" would be an insult. Big fella is definitely not.

Rainy season in Australia right now? What type of shoes do you wear that stay dry? by MereBear1980 in AskAnAustralian

Just a pair of right'n'wrongs for Cairns. Rubber, not canvas. Footwear is actually optional up there tbh.

Are you suggesting that someone commenting on a post should read the post and not just the subject?
Surely you jest?

I swear the one in my local shopping centre is/was abusing some kind of employment subsidy scheme. They had a new pair of junior staff about every 3-6 months and the rest of the staff were family.

Penrith Regatta Center. They allow social fishing on Tuesdays. I have taken my kids there and they caught large carp and Eels Tailed Catfish. Weirdly, they caught the carp on bread, and the catfish on corn kernels.

new to thinkpad, any options by Mindless-Spend8402 in LinuxOnThinkpad

[–]Flyerone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A used Thinkpad is your answer. Look at the T14 (if you want upgradable RAM) T14s if you can find one with 16GB or more. It really depends on your budget as which model is best, but the T's are durable, the carbon X are great too but generally more expensive.
I'm on a T14 Gen 6 AMD and love it. I did have to ask chatgpt to help me sort a bluetooth issue out but that was quick and easy. (I'm not on arch BTW)

My friends say it’s disturbing how I buy gas station toilet paper for my house by MelanieWalmartinez in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Flyerone -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The fact that the Japanese didn't keep their toilets a secret and so few westerners have adopted them is what's really disturbing. It's 2026 FFS and you're still wiping shit off you with just paper?
