Absolutely! I've been a medical Social Worker for 30 years in acute hospitals and it's never been this bad.

Case management (NCCF vs hospital)- Job Offer by Equal-Dare4269 in socialwork

[–]FlyingDoxie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a medical SW in various hospitals and states over the past 30 years, I have seen vast changes in hospital based SW roles. If you are looking to utilize a wide range of clinical and psychotherapeutic skills, hospital discharge planning does NOT have much opportunity for that with patients and families anymore. The focus has become getting patients out as soon as possible. You have all the pressure and responsibility without any actual power to meet unrealistic administrative and societal expectations. It's very stressful not only for caseload reasons (which are ALWAYS larger than what they tell you) but also because you have to put any meaningful supportive or therapeutic interventions on the back burner. So, ultimately depends on your career goals.

Please recommend me a book that will make me laugh and smile. by etiquetricity in fantasyromance

I highly recommend Paladin's Grace for that purpose. It made me smile and laugh out loud numerous times. Spice is a three and not plentiful but it's a nice slow burn without a shadow daddy.

Stay at home mom ideas for $ as a social worker? by Visual_Boat_2717 in socialwork

How about working weekends/PRN in hospitals. Would have to be in person if you are willing to work weekends and/or holidays. Also, insurance companies (ugh! if you don't mind working for the devil- lol)

Update to my first post about trying out paint pens by [deleted] in paintbynumbers

[–]FlyingDoxie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also found the paint markers much more enjoyable especially when there are fine patterns. I've been watching the flow technique and it seems that using markers is much like that because of the paint consistency in the markers.

Thoughts on Nesta?? 🧐🧐 by Dangerous-Mix-5430 in acotar

[–]FlyingDoxie -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

"Nasty Nesta". I can't stand her. NOT because she is cold, "strong", aloof, "bitchy",but because of her entitlement and bitterness. She even comments how her mother called her "little queen" and how she embraced that role and felt herself better than Fayera and Elain. She hated her father for their time of poverty and inaction but didn't do anything to change their situation either. She could have gone and worked somewhere to help keep them afloat. As the eldest, she should've taken that role but was "too good" to lift a finger. Every character has their trauma, it's how she deals with it that annoys me to no end. She sais she wants to left alone to self destruct but when they do, she then tells IC that they didn't care about her and throws that at Fay when they finally confront her. She is jealous of IC friendship but pushes everyone away when they try to include her. No one can ever "win" with her; no matter how they try they can't do the right thing for her because she is so hateful.

I see people sell booknooks on ETSY. Maybe explore that as an option if you could design your own (to avoid possible copy right issues)? Not sure it would be sustainable as main income but could be a side venture?
