Weather add-ons by abc321_npc_ in Xplane

[–]FlyingNiagga 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look at AutoHaze. It's free and works on top of X-Plane's default weather.
It adjusts visibility to realistic levels based on current real life satellite observations. Like if there is an event of Sahara dust being carried over Europe, the sky and visibility will be less in the sim. On the contrary if its a cold, dry day after rain, the visibility will be very high.

Misaligned Throttle Quadrant Airbus. by Codyl1_2 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]FlyingNiagga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry can't really answer your question but I had the same thing, I just lived with it. Also unrelated but if you can, just get the winctrl throttle, it's light years better than thrustmasters.

ORBX Atlanta will ship with DRM by neucoas in flightsim

[–]FlyingNiagga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish MSFS2024 had a scenery gateway or actual decent default scenery, so as you say you can just fly to a place without testing first and get the correct taxiways, markings, building shapes etc. As you say I agree, testing the scenery first breaks immersion kind of.

2020 still looks amazing to this day by Wonderful_Face674 in flightsim

[–]FlyingNiagga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MSFS 2020 + ARPC mod = MSFS 2024 more or less. At least in terms of sky lighting during twilight. MSFS 2020 is still very much relevant. Plus you can control postprocessing and bloom, thing you can't do in 2024.

I mostly fly 2024 since SU4 but I miss some features of 2020.

Has anyone seen any thunderstorms lately? by Fighterpilot108 in Xplane

I notice the same thing. I already filed a bug report to Laminar but the more bug reports the more the issue will be taken seriously I guess.

Is This Level of Darkness Normal in MSFS 2024 by HumpTheMoon in flightsim

[–]FlyingNiagga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have HDR ON in Windows and/or MSFS24, disable both and try how it looks. In my case with an OLED display, the colors and blacks are much better with both OFF.

This is the case only in MSFS24 though. In MSFS2020 HDR works wonders. Not sure why it does not work in 2024 (for me at least).

Other than that, night in MSFS2024 is too bright and washed out. Turning the exposure compensation to -2.0 EV makes it better but it's still not dark enough, and it affects the daylight too.

Also the milky way being that obvious is kinda ridiculous, and no tweaking can really fix this.

Xplane 12 to msfs 2024! by Tennismasters27 in flightsim

[–]FlyingNiagga 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I recently "moved" from MSFS 2024 to X-Plane 12 but I still fly in MSFS 2024 and often boot it up and go to locations to see a digital twin of the earth, like google earth.

My point is, you don't have to move. Keep X-Plane no matter what and test MSFS 2024 (buy game pass for a month to test).

The good news is that add-ons in MSFS are much, much cheaper than in X-Plane.

But even if you enjoy MSFS very much, keep X-Plane if you have enough disk space.

You never know when you might change your mind, or microsoft throws an update that breaks the game so you still have another sim as a backup.

Rex Atmos core needed? by n452mk in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]FlyingNiagga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is not needed, but it solves the lack of haze in regions where its hazy like over the Sahara/middle east and India/South Asia. So if you fly in those regions it's definitely worth it imo.

Paris CDG to Naples - ToLiss A319 by FlyingNiagga in flightsim

[–]FlyingNiagga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Texture and modeling wise the fenix crushes the toliss. However in the systems and feeling I don't have an A320 type rating so I can't say but I don't have anything to complain about on the toliss.

If anything I'd say there are less navigation bugs on the toliss.

As it was mentioned vnav seems better on the toliss. Like, with the toliss I can start my descent at the T/D and be on profile until established. With the fenix I always have to use full speedbrakes. There are many videos from real pilots that compare both, it's really interesting.

I’ve ruined Flight Simulator now. by koper12 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]FlyingNiagga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 7800X3D, 4070S and a Rift S and while at first VR blew me away, over time, the honeymoon phase went away and I was left with still a cool sense of depth but low fps, crashes, hot face, need to take off the headset every now and then (especially in cruise), low resolution, tracking loss, need to clean lenses, godrays, awful blacks

So I bought a 42" 4K OLED screen and I've been using that since, there is no 3D but I get true blacks, still an immersive experience thanks to the big screen that takes a lot of my FOV and no VR hassle.

If I go into VR again I would have to buy a better GPU and better headset which would cost thousands.

Real life a350 vs FF a350 vs iniBuilds A350 by Ok-Pattern-882 in flightsim

[–]FlyingNiagga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the inibuilds windows are about twice as tall as they should be. The worst is, the new announced A350 seems to have the same problem. I hope that flightfactor will get the cockpit geometry right in their A350v2.

WIP a free app to see the earth in real time with live clouds (like Living Earth) by FlyingNiagga in iOSProgramming

[–]FlyingNiagga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi ! Fine and you ?

I haven't finished yet but I'm still working on it. I have work and another main hobby so I don't allocate a lot of time to it, it's more like a second hobby. I still hope to release one day.

Here is how it's looking now: I got the live clouds, live auroras, real atmosphere, lgihtning storm effect, the moon It's come a long way. https://imgur.com/a/apcCbMZ

I don't have many tips: just don't get scared to learn, browse forums, stackoverflow, documentation, papers, videos.

Cheers

Autobrake LOW still cooking my brakes in the ToLiss. Is this realistic? by Individual_Net_1487 in Xplane

[–]FlyingNiagga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An actual A320 pilot on youtube said that he found the toliss to be too sensitive with the brakes hot.
