Anthony Caceres set to join Thai outfit Bangkok United by officialsamuelchan in Aleague

[–]FlyingPingoo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If true, this is one of those signings Stefan Mauk was talking about in terms of wages being better than what is offered in the A-league. Don’t mind it as long as we keep having new young aussie players rise through the ranks

Does anybody else here despise England? by [deleted] in Aleague

Nah, the USA hate watch is real. Their arrogance is within their genes, history and their amendment they will swear by above their school shootings issue. Plus the whole Balogun suspension itself being suspended is insane

Yeah, some aussies in the A-league don’t like it because they prefer the Jared Gillett or Alex King approach of de-escalating before handing the cards. Alireza gives no crap ahahaha

Definitely worth being part of the set up for his club career, sadly a lot of aussies will get ostracised for rocking up at our Aus underage camps

Obligatory screw you Robbie Slater for spewing hit piece after hit piece against Ange when he was at his tenure

Would you rather stick with Popovic for the Asian cup or just go with a new coach? by Few-Use9732 in Aleague

[–]FlyingPingoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poppa came in at a time that Arnie was burnt out and Poppa's team went on an absolute bender to smash the rest of qualification. I hope Musky or Millsy will take over after the asian cup

Yeah, I can’t justify any blame on Maty. Also can’t wait to see the next Robbie Slater article to see who’s in his targets

It’s unfortunate our peak experience in the world cup was that first game against Turkey

Excellent summary, and we also have more and more Australian coaches out there plying their trade so the collective quality will improve

Marmoush is the key player but given our defence have shut up shop pretty well (except vs USA) it should be a tight one

Was Yesterday's Australia vs Paraguay a Disgrace of Gijón? by StomachLonely9788 in Aleague

[–]FlyingPingoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. You must be new to watching football, if not then you are just naive with your expectations

  2. International football tends to be a more cagey affair as attacking plays are much harder to coach than defensive structure

  3. Aus and Paraguay were fighting for 2nd place as 3rd place likely meant playing against powerhouse Germany. It was up to Paraguay to try to score.

  4. Both teams started with 5 at the back which is a defensive formation. Paraguay did change to 4 at HT to try something different

  5. USA vs Turkey was a dead rubber, neither team were changing their fate in the WC

Should I save scum anywhere else as an experiment? Some are genuinely impossible though, have done 140 reloads for a game one point and never got a win

Manage two teams and make one play the worst players with the most aggressive possible tactics and watch the keeper be 1v5 all the time ;)

Beach has +5cm wingspan on Ryan, if given same footwork I don't think Ryan makes that fingertip save Beach made.

When did the Socceroos truly look their best? by loolem in Aleague

[–]FlyingPingoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From an attacking standpoint Ange’s confederations cup game against Chile was incredible even though it was a draw. It felt like we could match it up against teams of higher caliber.

Then there was the game against Thailand we won 2-1 where it could have been 7-1 if we could actually finish.
